About the Campaign:
From Aaron Allard and James Lafeur the filmmakers of the well regarded Manos: The Hands of Fate documentary "Hotel Torgo" comes Umbrella of Damocles.
Umbrella of Damocles is a surreal dark comedy about an accidental (yet fatal) umbrella wound to the head and a friends dying wish. The film explores the duty-bound altruism of Lawrence as he becomes the adoptive father of his slain friends put-upon wife and young boy.
This campaign will allow the filmmakers the freedom to explore original, strange and personal stories not usually told. With a unique shooting style (consisting of only single shot takes), visually heightened locations and actors with real character, honing in on a singular vision is the key element to making this film work and the filmmakers will not compromise that vision in anyway.
What your donations mean:
Your support will ensure the freedom from the limitations of low-budget filmmaking and to help fund the missing elements of the production.
The money raised will go towards basic things such as equipment rentals (lighting, mics, etc..), general make-up and special effects make-up (specifically for the umbrella wound effect), the cost of transportation to our locations, such as gas, parking and TTC, also any future festival entry fees.
The cast and crew involved are all amazing and talented people volunteering their time and effort without financial compensation. Your support is greatly appreciated and we look forward to sharing the final product with you through DVD, a screening or festival real soon.
People who donate up to $10 will receive a secure online link to view the film and everyone who donates over $25 will receive a copy of the film on DVD and special thanks credit at the end of the film and on IMDB. With larger donations you can also receive many more great perks such as an Executive Producer credit, limited edition lobby cards, pins and scripts, invite to the cast and crew screening, and a pass for four to the Comedy Bar in Toronto.

A little help from our friends:
As we know social media is a huge part of low budget filmmaking right now, so any help with sharing, liking, re-tweeting and getting the word out to other like minded people who you think might dig this, it would be greatly appreciated.
We will be updating all platforms frequently with new updates, fun links and just random mishegoss. We hope to not bore our audience and give them something fun to start off or finish their day.
Thank you in advance for anything you are able to contribute, we are humbly grateful for your help.
