TURN OUTRAGE INTO ACTION
Let's put our energy into fighting sexual violence & supporting survivors.
Glorying sexual violence and giving advice on how to commit a sexual assault have no place in our society, online or off. Over the past month, 732 people have made contributions to fund a “how-to” manual endorsing sexual assault, providing instructions like these:
“Don’t ask for permission. Be dominant. Force her to rebuff your advances.”
“Pull out your coc* and put her hand on it. Remember, she is letting you do this because you have established yourself as a LEADER. Don’t ask for permission, GRAB HER HAND, and put it right on your dic*.”
Let’s show the world that there are more people who support survivors of sexual violence than there are people who advocate for violence.
Let’s invest in programs and initiatives that change the way Americans think about sexual violence.
Let’s ensure that survivors get the help they deserve through the National Sexual Assault Hotline.
Every 2 minutes someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted. Since 1994, RAINN has helped over 1.8 million people take the first steps towards recovery through the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE & online.rainn.org).
Make your voice heard! Contribute to this campaign to show that we will not tolerate sexual violence!
RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization and was named one of "America's 100 Best Charities" by Worth magazine. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE and online.rainn.org) in partnership with more than 1,100 local rape crisis centers across the country. The hotline has helped more than 1.8 million people affected by sexual violence since 1994. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help victims and ensure that rapists are brought to justice.
The Online Hotline provides live, secure, anonymous crisis support for victims of sexual violence, their friends, and families. As the nation's first web-based secure hotline service, the Online Hotline uses a unique platform that's as intuitive as instant messaging — ideal for users who are more comfortable communicating online than over the phone. The Online Hotline is free of charge and is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week!
In addition to helping survivors, RAINN holds an annual day of action, RAINN Day, to raise awareness and educate college students about sexual assault on college campuses. A grassroots program that's designed to empower students to educate their peers about risk reduction and recovery resources available on campus, RAINN Day reaches thousands of students each year.
If you or someone you know has been sexually assaulted, it's never too late to get help. Please call 800-656-HOPE (4673) or visit online.rainn.org.
