TLD Myke HolmesCASTING ANNOUNCEMENT: We are proud to announce that MYKE HOLMES has joined the cast to play Wadell, the youngest of the Dixon clan! Currently filming on the set of the film Adrenaline, Myke has also been seen in shows such as One Tree Hill, Drop Dead Diva and Revolution. We couldn't be more excited!!

Times Like Dying is a 20-minute narrative short film set in the Post-Civil War South involving a man named Percy Dixon and his brothers who are stuck with no good options. They are facing the loss of their family farm and backed into a corner. They decide the only way to save their livelihood is to rob a bank. After the robbery, the Dixon clan become separated, but rendezvous at a small farm where they have a chance encounter with a lawman who has seen better days. Over the course of the night, the truth of their actions is discovered. Loyalties are tested. Hostages are taken. Surviving the night begins to outweigh saving the farm.

Ultimately this story is about choices. We are faced with them every second of every day. Sometimes it seems like the only options available are the bad ones. Nevertheless, we have to understand that no matter what choice we make, though often unexpected, consequences come hand in hand.

Financial Support

We cannot make this film without your support. The script is amazing, the team is incredible, and the cast is talented, but without your financial help, TIMES LIKE DYING will never see the light of day. We NEED YOU to join our team. Making a movie - even a short film - is expensive! There are a lot of things that need to be rented and/or acquired. Here’s just a partial list of what your donations will go towards:

  • an ARRI Alexa Camera
  • Lenses
  • Camera/Dolly Equipment
  • Lights
  • Locations
  • Props
  • Period Wardrobe
  • HORSES and an Animal Wrangler
  • Special Effects
  • Sound Equipment
  • Original Music
  • Hiring Cast and Crew
  • Feeding as many as 30 crew and talent twice a day for a week

And that’s just to get the footage! After that, we’ll need to pay for post-production, editing, sound design, mastering, color corrections, ADR, festival submission fees, and the list goes on and on!

Even the smallest donations add up quick and can help us blast way past our goal, but YOU have to donate for it to work!

Through our affiliation with IndieGoGo Partner Fractured Atlas, every dollar you give above the physical value of the perk can be written off. It’s simple - you donate, you get awesome perks, you get to write it all off AND help make an incredible film with a beautifully crafted story.

Please Help Get The Word Out

Whether $5 or $5000, your donations are HUGELY appreciated and we thank you in advance for giving what you can afford to give. However, if you’re not able to support our film financially, we can still really use your help. PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS about this film.
