About 40 years ago, My dad was a chemistry teacher at a local high school. He also happened to teach photography, and had a darkroom in the science building, where he was chairman of the department One day he put a an old Pentax Honeywell Spotmatic 35mm camera in my hands and let me go out and take pictures. I've been hooked on it ever since.

Well now I'm older and my kids are almost grown. Photography is still a pastime and a passion for me, but I’ve begun to take it to the next level. I've recently opened up a small studio and begun doing portraiture, as well as weddings and events. I cater to clientele who would love to have a wedding, anniversary, or other event photographed, but  might not think that they have the resources to do so. I might not make quite as much money as other photographers in the area by doing this, but knowing that my customers have received a quality product as well as cherished memories more than makes up for it. I am also expanding my fine art photography, and have had my work shown in galleries in the Knoxville area. I also hope to expand into photojournalistic photography, and have ideas for several projects which I hope to have published one day.

To date, I have purchased all of my equipment with money that I earned. I have not taken out any loans, nor otherwise gone into any type of debt to get where I am today. I understand that it can be very easy to spend a tremendous amount of money purchasing photographic equipment, therefore I have done extensive research and have taken the time to accumulate equipment which provides the best value for the best possible price. I continued that practice when establishing my fundraising goals for this campaign. All monies raised, whether or not my goal is reached, will be used strictly for the purchase of equipment, and no money will be used for any personal expenses. Your donations will not go unrewarded either. I have established a series of perks, which can be found on the campaign website. For a $100 donation, you can receive a 16 x 20 print from one of my selected fine arts series images, or, if you live in East Tennessee area, you can receive a gift certificate for a free photo session, along with exclusive rights to all of the prints.

I have been truly blessed to have the opportunity to turn my avocation into my vocation. I also feel truly blessed that you would consider helping me, and together I think we can make something special happen. God bless you for your consideration, and feel free to contact me through my webpage with any questions or concerns that you might have.
