The Water Table

The Water Table is Brooklyn's very first dinner boat! Founded by Captain Kelli Farwell, formally of Rye, Dumont, Craft and Gramercy Tavern, it's a New England style restaurant on the water. For a fixed price, guests of The Water Table will enjoy a three-hour cruise originating at one of the many new piers opening in Greenpoint, and a selection of two of our classic dishes, such as lobster rolls, oysters on the half shell, clam chowder, and delicious veggies, whipped up by our on-board chef. Enjoy classic craft cocktails mixed by our bartender, or try one of our selection of amazing New England craft beers or seasonal wine selections.

While Captain Farwell steams the boat around New York Harbor, you'll be enjoying quality food and drinks, and drifting away with the gorgeous views of the city that we all love. Grab a date or some friends to join one of two nightly dinner tours!

Captain and Founder

My name is Kelli Farwell and I am the Captain and Founder of The Water Table.

I grew up in the woods of Northern Maine with an appreciation of home-cooked meals and the outdoors. Fourteen years ago, I moved to New York City where I’ve been immersed in the hospitality industry. My experience includes fine dining service at the top tier venues of Gramercy Tavern and Craft to Wine Director for the more casual eateries of Dressler, Dumont and Rye in Brooklyn’s most sought after neighborhood, Williamsburg, where I currently live.

Our Boat
The Water Table!

Our perfect boat is a custom built 53' USCG certified commercial passenger vessel. It's made entirely of steel (which will help keep a calm ride even in rough waters) built as a replica of a Marin tugboat in 1981. The original name was Tugboat Annie and is currently named Stanley C. after a prior owner's grandfather. It is certified to carry 49 passengers plus crew. She has served as a loved tour boat on Lake Michigan and is in the process of renovation in order to steam through the Great Lakes and Erie Canal, down the Hudson River to make its debut in New York Harbor. There isn't another boat like it in New York City and we think you will all love it.

Redefining New York Dining

Through living in this neighborhood, I was inspired by the accessibility of the waterways to get my Commercial Boating License and am now a Master Level Captain. New York Harbor is a defining part of the City, but is geared towards tourism and commuting and is overlooked for its full potential. The Water Table will create a new dining experience for true New Yorkers. This venue combines my hospitality and nautical background to provide an exciting new way to enjoy the City, easily accessible from one of the developing new piers in North Brooklyn.

The success of the East River Ferry service has redefined how easy and pleasurable the waterways are. If only for 15-20 minutes during their morning commutes, people can leave their troubles on land and enjoy the peace of gliding on the water and seeing the full scope of the city. The Water Table capitalizes off of this renewed interest by combining the adventure of being on the water with quality food and drink.

Why Brooklyn?

Brooklyn has become one of the best known places for great restaurants focused on local/sustainable ingredients served up in an intimate environment. The borough has become its own destination, separate from the city, teaming with culinary invention and authority. The Water Table will take this experience to sea.

Giving Back

Here's where you come in! The Water Table needs your contributions to make this a reality. I need capital to get the boat in the water and prepare for it’s Maiden Voyage. I can't do it without your help and generosity and you'll be able to say you're a part a brand new dining experience. We also have some exciting perks to thank you for what you give, including t-shirts and tote bags with TWT official logo, free drinks on the boat and free cruises for you and your friends!
