The Second City is the world premier sketch and improv comedy theatre. We have been producing some of your favorite comedians for the last 55 years. The All-Star Comedy Benefit is a fundraising effort to benefit Gilda's Club Chicago as well as The Second City Alumni Fund.
In addition to being a Second City alumni, Gilda Radner was an incredible person and her legacy continues through the free programs offered to men, women, children, and their families and friends whose lives have been impacted by cancer at Gilda's Club Chicago.
The Second City Alumni Fund was established by Eugene Levy, Martin Short, Joe Flaherty, Andrea Martin, Catherine O’Hara and Andrew Alexander to assist and aid current, former or retired performers, technicians, support staff or other members of the creative and productions teams employed by The Second City theatres and in connection with the SCTV television series.
The Alumni Fund provides counseling and/or short-term financial aid to assist in expenses for health, housing and rehabilitation after an illness, injury or sudden inability to work.
What We Need & What You Get
We would like to raise $20,000 through Indiegogo. Our All-Star Comedy Benefit is July 17th, so we have tickets available for the show along with a VIP post-show cocktail reception after the last show.
Scheduled performers include Scott Adsit (30 Rock), Aidy Bryant (Saturday Night Live), Mike Hagerty (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Mob City), T.J. Jagodowski (TJ & Dave), David Koechner (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, American Dad!), Jack McBrayer (30 Rock, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Tim Meadows (Saturday Night Live, Mean Girls), Susan Messing (Messing with a Friend), Katie Rich (Saturday Night Live), Allison Tolman (Fargo), George Wendt (Cheers), Fred Willard (Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Modern Family) and Steven Yeun (Walking Dead). This line-up is subject to change based on availability.
In addition to tickets, we have a limited number of autographed posters signed by performers for sale, which make great souvenirs or gifts for friends or family.
If $50 is still too much, for any contribution equal to or greater than $10, we will create a Thank You page hosted on SecondCity.com with everyone's name listed out who contributed $10 or more.
Risks & Challenges
As huge supporters of Gilda's Club Chicago, we want to do everything we can to provide a sizeable donation to them and anything helps.
