"The Reel of Horror" is a 45-minute featurette that spans multiple horror genres. (Check out the GALLERY Link at the top of this page).
Here’s the pitch; there is a mom and pop movie theater going under because they cannot afford to switch to digital projection. Over the years the projectionist (Lloyd Kaufman - President of Troma Entertainment & Creator of the Toxic Avenger) has edited out the scariest parts of movies and compiled them into one reel (The Reel of Horror). A group of people are going to the final midnight screening of the premier of “The Reel of Horror." While watching the film, a young girl is turned off by one of the scenes and as soon as she exits the theater her boyfriend recognizes her as one of the victims on screen. He then looks around the theater and realizes that various creatures from the film have surrounded other members of the audience. Then, there is a big action scene; everyone runs around getting killed or pulled into the film. The boyfriend attempts to get to the projectionist but fails. The end.

My name is Jeremiah Baumbach. I am an Emmy-nominated cinematographer & digital media trainer. "The Reel of Horror" has been in the works for nearly four years. A number of individuals and myself have contributed countless hours to this film to showcase our talents but there is no point in continuing if there is no audience. As a contributor your donatation is proof that someone is eager to screen our efforts. Are you?
What We Need & What You GetThe funds generated are going to be used to secure locations and compensate our talented team of makeup artists, actors, and crew. Every cent donated will be put toward on screen production value. To entice you, we are offering some tangible perks that we feel donors will appreciate. If we don't reach our goal, honestly, it isn't the end of the world. However, if we do reach our goal it lets us know that there is a growing audience for what we have accomplished. The truth is: this project is all about exposure, not profit.
This film is different because it can be a very social experience. There is minimal dialogue throughout the film & audiences that have seen the rough cut have shared their reactions during the screening. People love to get scared and laugh at other people's fear. This film lets you do both. Watching doesn't have to be your focus either. You can let it run at an event as atmosphere & partygoers can tune in or out as they please.
Risks & Challenges
The biggest challenge we face is acquiring your time. After watching the pitch can you foresee yourself taking the time to screen the final film? Will you take the time now to share this campaign or donate?
