Two towns. Two teams. One game.
What We Need & What You Get
To cover the costs of the filming, post-production, original music score, promotion, and premiere of the project at both Cambria Heights High School and Northern Cambria High School, we've arrived at a budget for this film of approximately $25,000. As mentioned earlier, Jonathan Ryan Films (www.jonathanryanfilms.com and www.facebook.com/thecinematicexperience) are handling the production of the project, and Jonathan and his crew produce outstanding work. Here's how it breaks down:
Equipment Rental: $1,500
5-Person Film Crew (3 days): $4,500
Original Music Score: $2,000
Cost of Incentive Packages (expected): $4,000
Film Premiere Events: $4,000
Blu-Ray/DVD Production: $3,500
Marketing/Website/Graphic Design/Promotion: $1,500
Filmmaking is no simple hobby. It takes serious ability and adept filmmakers to construct a high-quality film. It also takes months of writing, planning, shooting, editing, composing, and delivering the final product. At the end of the day, the hours far outweigh the dollars, but the work is worth the effort!
Now, the goods!
We're offering an INSANE selection of unique supporter packages of movie tickets, commemorative magazines, Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Download sets, custom Nike & New Era hats, shirts, and replica jerseys, Riddell & Schutt helmets & mini-helmets, and more, such as the chance to have yourself or your business featured in the film, private, catered VIP screenings, replica "Coal Bucket" trophies, and even Associate and Executive Producer credits!!!
Details of all of these packages are listed on the right hand side of this page, along with the amount requested for each to back this project. There's something for everyone to commemorate their involvement in this once-in-a-lifetime project and be immortalized in the film forever!
But $25,000? That can be considered a lofty goal. What happens if we don't reach our budget? Where will the money go if we exceed the budget?
These are great questions, and we've got great answers!
First, the budget is modest compared to similar projects of this scope. We are very fortunate to have found a partner in Jonathan Ryan Films who is passionate about the project and we're stretching every penny we have as far as we can!
Secondly, if we don't reach our goal in this campaign, that doesn't mean the project dies. But, it does mean that we have a much more difficult road to try to get the project completed...if we can at all.
That's why we need your help. If we fall short, while we get to apply some of the funding we raise to the project, it could lead to it being delayed long-term, which we don't want. We're shooting for a Spring 2014 release date, and we need you to help us get there!
Lastly, a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to BOTH the Cambria Heights Highlanders and Northern Cambria Colts football programs. There's nothing more we'd love to do than raise double, triple, or quadruple our goal so that we can help financially support these programs that desperately need funding for stadium, weight room, and equipment upgrades that are long, long overdue. As some of you know, both districts are working diligently to raise funding for stadium renovations, as both venues are in need of updates - and we'd love to make those happen!
What Happens After It's Funded?
Yes! The problem we are hoping for! Actually, it's not a problem at all - as soon as the project is funded, post-production will begin, which can take several months to over a half a year. At the time, the digital video will be tweaked, spliced, arranged, and matched with archival footage, photographs, digital graphics and more to complete teh story we wish to tell and paired with an all-original score by music composer Jeremy Scott.
Once completed, the finished film will be screened by the producers, director, and production team, along with executive and associate producers who have contributed to the project. Once happy with the final result, the film will be produced in Blu-Ray/DVD formats and digitized in HD for digital download and marketed to the public, but not before we GRAND PREMIERE the film at both Cambria Heights High School and Northern Cambria High School!
These premiere events will be the first time anyone outside of the production team will be able to view the completed film, and will serve as events that celebrate the end of the Coal Bowl rivalry and launch of new eras in both football programs. At this point, a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to each football program and the movie will be made available to the general public for purchase and/or download, and the film will then be submitted to various film festivals. Once the film tours the festival circuit, we will push to have it made available for online streaming, specifically through Netflix!
Other Ways You Can Help
Hey, not everyone is in a financial position to help, and we understand that. If you fall into that category - we think just about everyone could pitch in $5 or $10 - but still want to help, help us spread the word about this project by telling everyone you know about it! Share it on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and wherever else you journey online; tell your friends at work, school, and where you hang out; send it to your email contacts, bring it up at family dinners, share it with your church, and literally tell everyone you know about this film project so that those who are able can find us and contribute.
Back this Project TodayThis unique rivalry deserves to be retold and relived for years to come, and we can provide the medium with which we do that...but only with your support.
