Appearing on your smart phone, on your laptop or from your smart TV, there will finally be a destination where people like you can access a shared social experience devoted to the most prolific cultural movement in our recent history.
The Hip Hop Festival (THHF) is a place where Hip Hop offers a life of entertainment, a live interactive, online platform launching in Summer 2013. THHF is set to be a digital phenomenon as the worlds’ first social media driven festival.
Bamboo Sword has been working with Hip Hop artists and practitioners for over 10 years, creating new collaborations and refining the Hip Hop festival format.
The Hip Hop Festival is an artist led movement to capture and exemplify all that is progressive in Hip Hop arts, technology and media. We are creating a new arts platform, globally accessible through the digital realm whilst satisfying the need for real world, local human contact through live events.
Amidst the technology driven whirlwind of networks, we seek a global adventure to reveal the diamonds in the dirt and to make concrete the potency of Hip Hop creativity all over the world. This is a Hip Hop festival re-imagined for an online audience and it really is as big as we make it.
So first things first, we’re going to need a social platform for Hip Hop aficionados that extends into a festival environment. A Hip Hop resource available 365 days a year, with high quality content, which is informative and entertaining.
1. The Hip Hop Festival will be themed in art form zones:
The MC//Dance//The DJ//Graffiti//The Producer//Film//Fashion//Theatre
2. The Hip Hop Festival content will be filtered by global regions:
Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, The Carribean, Middle East, Oceania, North America.
3. We’ll work with Live Edition Partners to curate streamed content from live events to add to the festival experience.
We are raising £75,000 to design, build and launch this platform later this year and to fuel the network that will make it all possible.
The campaign perks are designed to involve you as a part of the international Hip Hop community or as an arts and technology fan, from the initial stages of this concept.
You can get involved by taking up our perks including ‘HBomb’ collectibles and a range of digital perks such as supporter credits on thehiphopfestival.com. There’s even perks for independent brands who want to join the festival trail.
***And in a special twist on perks, crowd funding and rewards, we’re giving grassroots Hip Hop and arts organisations all over the world the opportunity to make their own mark on this event. And this is where the fun really starts! If you’re an arts, tech or media organisation working with enterprising young people you can take a stake as a Local Founding Partner. Online, your participants can represent your organisation with high quality content at thehiphopfestival.com. There are also incentives to seed the creation of local, inspirational events using The Hip Hop Festival brand. ***
We’re pragmatic optimists round here and so no matter the amount we raise we will use all funds achieved to present scaleable versions of this nomadic, digital experience.
