The Hidden Rebellion - Phase II
So much has happened since you last supported our effort to reveal the untold story behind the French Revolution. Thanks to your financial generosity, we raised over $21,000 in America and €15,000 in France for the equipment, actors, filming and so many other costs associated with beginning a production of such magnitude. We are humbled and grateful for all of the contributors to our first, successful campaign.

For the second phase, I have taken out over $18,000.00 from my personal life savings to put toward the editing and continued production of the incredible footage we accumulated on location in France. It is my hope that through another crowd-funding campaign, we can continue to work toward the total amount of $150,000.
Believe it or not, this phase of the campaign will put us well over halfway there! Phase II money is critical for:
- The frame-by-frame editing of dozens and dozens of hours of footage from France.
- Additional production costs such as audio enhancement and sound effects.
- Composition, recording and final editing of the musical score.
- The technical incorporation of graphics such as any maps, subtitles or images.
There is so much that goes into editing, but what it really needs is heart!
What Goes Into Editing?
When the craft of editing a production is done well, the audience will barely notice. However, it takes more time and energy than filming. The editing is what allows the audience to be drawn into a story through the transition of imagery and sound over the course of the program. There is so much creative “magic” that simply cannot be faked.
With lighting and sound components, a video sequence with actors can take one week to edit into a sequence of three minutes. This comes after all the transcription, time-stamping and frame-mapping that must take place to ensure a quality production. French sound bites must be translated with the addition of voice-overs. A professionally composed and recorded narration typically requires a team of two editors and two assistant editors and weeks and weeks of work.
Interviews must also be prepared weeks ahead of recording with multiple conversations and readings before they are segmented and interspersed with the live action scenes.
In the end, it will all be worth it. Because there is no other medium in the world that can offer a narrative as compelling as one which combines motion picture and sound--especially if our goal is to reach all audiences throughout the world.
How Far Can This Docudrama Go?
During this phase, we are really asking our friends and supporters to help us raise awareness for this project. This docudrama will bring alive the importance of religious liberty in a way that seems concrete to the world. After all, who doesn't know the French Revolution? But yet, so few know the plight of the Vendeans. If we can produce a compelling, professional work that highlights one of the most horrific, hidden genocides in history, then could we not take it to Hollywood? We think we can, but we need your help:
- Help us raise $30,000 for the editing and production of this docudrama.
- Entice your friends and neighbors to join you in supporting our cause.
- Spread the word and educate the masses so history does not repeat.
We are creating a world-class docudrama that will capture audiences and shine a light on a secret that so many ruthless dictators have wanted to hide over the years.
- Please share this campaign on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and everywhere!
- Make a contribution. It really does make a huge difference--especially if you were generous enough to support our first campaign.
- Consider our perks as gifts for others!

Cool Twist on Perks
We are so thankful to all those who contributed to our first campaign and have some brand new perks to offer to our financial supporters. If you see a perk that wasn't available on the last campaign and contributed to our Phase I campaign, we will credit that donation amount toward a Phase II perk. That means, if you contributed $25 last time, you can get the new, embroidered cap with a $25 contribution this time around! If you donated $100, then it will only cost $150 this time around for a title credit. This is our unconventional way of saying thank you for your past generosity and faith in our project.
