Hello dear Goat Race fans! Yes, the Goat Race is over, The day was a huge success, social media is buzzing, all very exciting, but now is the part when I take all the marvellous footage I shot and make it into a film. If anyone wants to help out, I still am trying to raise a very modest amount of funds to cover some of the costs of making the film, a reminder too that 50% of all contributions go to things the goats need, like vaccinations and food! As little as £5 will help me out, The film will be complete at the end of April - mid May 2013.

As a thank you to those who have helped already, here's the just completed mini Goat Race Film as promised: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ea9qdpVBGqk If you enjoyed the mini film please share this campaign and/ or consider a small contribution to help me finish the main film, see affordable perks to the right : )

Many Thanks, Donna Lipowitz (Director)

 Who is making this film?

Hi! My Name is Donna Lipowitz, I'm an Independent Documentary Filmaker originally from Australia, based in London. I make entertaining short Documentary Films, more about me/ my films here:

 http://www.lipowitzfilms.com/

https://vimeo.com/donnalipowitzdocos

I am currently making a new Short Documentary Film called "The Goat Race"

About the Goat Race here: http://www.thegoatrace.org/

Its a fantastic project because its not only an entertaining subject with amazing people involved and super adorable goats, but its also a very important event since it raises up to 10,000£ every year which goes towards taking care of the Animals at Spitalfields City Farm in London.

The film will help publicise the Charity Goat Race and Spitalfields and Mudchute City Farms, for years to come, which means that by helping me make this film, you too will be helping these farms stay open, for you and for your family and friends to enjoy for years to come!

What We Need & What You Get

The cost of making this film is very low, and I am not paying myself or charging for my own equipment, but there are still costs that I need some help with in order to get this film made.

This campaign is partly to raise money for my film, but also partly a campaign to raise money to help take care of the Goats out at Spitalfields City Farm.

600£ is the amount I am trying to raise.

50% of all contributions will go towards food donations or Farm supplies for the Goats themselves. , so I am only asking for 300£ for the film, to help pay for things like hardrive space, equipment bits for sound recording, batteries, travel expenses, and an original music composition. the remaining 300£ to go towards the upkeep of the goats. Most of the 'Perks' are in the form of 'feel good' contributions for the welfare of the goats.

The ultimate Perk for the highest contribution is a chance to have your photo taken with the winner of the race, or your Goat of choice, if you have a particular favourite., and even get a cuddle from the Goat (if the feeling is mutual ; )

I am making this film so far from my own pocket, and by relying on the generosity of others to work for me for free, as I just love making Documentary Films, but for the first time in my filmaking career I am asking for help as I would like to be able to keep making great films like this.

Any contributions at all will be greatly appreciated, even if the goal of £600 is not reached, I will still do my best to complete the film, but any extra help, will make this film the best it can be.

The City Farms will always need more help than we can afford to give, but if you are feeling particularly generous, the farm manager Jenny at Spitalfields city farms has informed me that they are also in need of funds to go towards refurbishing the stables - the roof leaks, and they need ~£10,000 for new suitable one!

The Impact

If you contribute to this little film you will be helping to publicise the Annual Goat Race which in turn will help raise more needed funds for Spitalfields City Farm, and awareness of other City farms in London, and Worldwide.

Many of us live in built up cites and don't have time to visit the countryside or spend time with animals like many of us used to when we were younger. These farms are very important places where people can take out time from their busy lives to remind us of a simpler life.

Other Ways You Can Help

Even if you can't afford to contribute financially, helping me spread the word via Social Networking sites such as Twitter or Facebook would help a lot.
