Our biggest challenge was working on the hardware design. When designing from scratch, there are so many different options and paths to choose from that make it that much harder to start the design. But after studying all of our options and deciding on the design path, everything else fell in place. We received a lot of helpful tips from different industry experts in terms of circuit design, SW development, CAD design (Mechanical), and manufacturing. Obviously there were a lot of bumps along the road, and technical difficulties, but with persistence and hard work, we were able to overcome these challenges.
Now, we have one final obstacle before we can bring the Fig into production. That is why we need your help and support to pay for some of the tooling costs. As we stated previously, most backup batteries in today's market only offer a 3 or 4 LED indicator for the remaining battery charge. A lot of times these LED's are very misleading because of the cheap and inaccurate design. Not only that, but a majority of the these power banks claim to hold a charge that they truly don’t because of the low battery grade they use. Otherwise they are too bulky or unattractive.
The Fig solves all of these issues by accurately indicating the exact charge remaining in your battery with a percentage indicator. Also, it lets you know exactly what your battery is doing, whether charging or discharging, and how much current your mobile device is drawing.
