Help The Factory Theater of Chicago celebrate 20 more years of ensemble driven original works.

Factory Theater has written and produced over 90 original productions since its founding in 1992, while bridging the gap between critical acclaim and audience accessibility. We have received rave reviews from The Reader, New City, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, Time Out Chicago and L.A. Weekly, and have won awards and recommendations with After Dark and the Joseph Jefferson Committee. More importantly, we have a fiercely loyal audience base that keeps us creating year after year.

We attribute our success to hard work, dedication, and love for theater, and passion in our process.  We have weapons in our arsenal, along with our endurance, to continue Factory's vision of writing and producing new works in an effort to provide our ever-growing audience with laughter and inspiration.

Our Mission: Factory Theater delivers unexpected, unapologetic theatrical experiences through original works forged and assembled by our shameless ensemble.

What others say about The Factory Theater:

"We are witnessing the birth of a new theatrical form." -- The Chicago Reader

"This irreverent theater company does multiple comedy shows, late night and prime time, the titles of which--''White Trash Wedding and a Funeral,'' ''Second City Didn't Want Us,'' ''Bitches''--tell you what to expect. The work ranges from crude to brilliant and changes so fast it's impossible to categorize."  -- Metromix.com

"May we all just take a moment to agree that Factory Theater is a goddamn Chicago Treasure?'  -- Time Out Chicago

The Impact

Our goal is to raise $5000 to help produce our 22nd season.  From this we plan to allocate $1500 per production for sets, designers, costumes and props.  The remainder will go towards marketing materials and the launch of our new website!

With your help, we can bring you 2014's original works:

Hey! Dancin! Hey! Musical!
written by Kirk Pynchon and Mike Beyer based on their play "Hey! Dancin'!"
music and lyrics by Laura McKenzie
additional lyrics by Kirk Pynchon

Based on the  Factory's 2010 hit play that Time Out Chicago named one of the best in the city, "Hey! Dancin'! Hey! Musical!" features original songs that evoke memories of Heart, The Pointer Sisters and Mr. Glenn Frey. Set in Chicago in 1986, teenagers Halle and Trisha finagle their way into the final taping of the hippest cable access dance show in the Chicagoland area in the hopes of finding true love (or sex - or both). The hair is big, the fashion is ridiculous, dancing is king and everyone sings!

Take the Cake
written by Stacie Barra

What seems like an innocent sitcom about girlfriends quickly takes a turn when it's discovered that there may be something darker than the chocolate in Caroline's desserts. Danger, drugs, and murder just got delicious in this twisted tale of friendship, secrets, and balls…cakeballs.

Hotel Aphrodite
written by Angelina Martinez

Are you looking to re-kindle your love life? Do you suddenly find yourself aroused by Furries, Plushies, and/or Adult Babies? Dr. Linda Knudson & Family have years of experience in the ever-changing field of love. Let her and her friendly and flexible staff assist you with all of your issues. The staff is impeccable, the clientele discreet, and the whipped cream is plentiful in this Upstairs/Downstairs farce.

We are thrilled to present this new season, but it is impossible without your support. The Factory Theater must raise $5,000 in order to produce these three fantastic new works and continue to grow for years to come.

What We Need & What You Get

We need your support- whether its $5, $15 or $50, any amount helps keep The Factory running, and we want to thank you for it!  For your tax deductible donation, we'd like to give an extra thank you by sending you gifts.  Because we love you.  Because our audience is who we do this for, and because we can't wait for you to see what we come up with next.

Other Ways You Can Help

Unable to throw us a cash donation right now? Share this on your social network of choice, email, text message, or phone call.  As we say every night, "Word of mouth is the best form of advertising".  Thanks for the last 21 years.  Let's keep it going!
