The Digital Justice Project
Every year thousands of children go missing in Cambodia and the surrounding regions. Many of these children are lost to the sex trade or forced labor.
While families can file a missing children’s report, there is currently no mechanism to track cases of missing and trafficked children in Cambodia, or to help police to investigate, find them, and bring them home. The Digital Justice Project provides a solution to this problem by creating a database and website that will track missing persons cases, allowing the public to report and look for missing loved ones.
The Digital Justice Project will allow police and government officials immediate access to open cases, and vital information, helping them to find and bring missing persons home.
It will also provide the first accurate numbers of trafficked children in Cambodia.
Some heroes have come forward with $60,000 of seed money to get this database and website built and begin the process of logging the missing. But, we need YOUR help!
We are asking you to join us in launching the implementation phase if this project.
Your donation will make it possible to hire Cambodian Nationals who can collect and enter information on cases of missing children in Cambodia. It will fund a campaign throughout the country to alert the public and allow them to report cases of missing family members and friends. It will build capacity in the police and government as we work together with them to solve and track cases. We will connect other organizations in the region to cases they may be able to help solve, further assisting the Cambodian National Police.
The Digital Justice Project will help bring children home and through greater awareness and speed of tracking efforts, work to prevent human trafficking at its source.
