1880, a man is riding through a barren landscape. Down sand dunes and across flat plains, coming across a Nataive American woman. He hasn't seen anyone for weeks. He is tired.
2013, a childrens Cowboy and Indian party. A boy and a girl are having a standoff. The Cowboy astride a hobby horse, the girl with a bow and arrow.
And That's a Wrap!
A lovely couple of days filming. Donations are still vital if you'd like to see this ambitious little project.
Couple of days training in Western style for our actor Andrew Harwood Mills.
DAY 01 Complete!
Lovely day of shooting the Birthday Party scene. Cast and Crew were fantastic, complete with supporting artists and bunting to complete the party scene. 1 week to go until we film the Cowboy and Native American set in 1880.
Who Are We?
I’m Associate Producer for this short film, The Cowboy, Liam Dunne. Here to help raise finance for this exciting little project.
Our film crew consists of recent film student graduates and independent filmmakers, just trying to make ourselves noticed with a fantastic short film.
Any contribution will help us enormously with this ambitious idea:
- Making the South of England looking like the Wild West
- The production costs of getting everyone together for the shoot
- Authentic costumes, props and a horse.
Calum Green has directed Titus Andronicus, Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream in association with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) gaining the financial support of Stephen Fry in the process. Over the last 5-6 years, Calum has directed short films, other plays and has also co-directed a couple of low budget features.
Paige Lian Copsey has been directing short film projects with schemes in her community for the past 6 years, leading to winning the First Light Movies Best Drama award in 2011 with The Apothecary. Over the last year, Paige has gained an appreciation of the film industry by working in the location department on films such as Skyfall and Hummingbird.
What We Need & What You Get
We are aiming to raise £800, which will be focussed on the art department.
The money will bring the production to a higher level that we couldn’t do without your help.
Costumes need to be believable in an 1880 setting, and a birthday party scene with children needs to look big, colourful and fun.
Our aim is to get as many people to donate as little as £1 with our eternal thanks, but if you are able to donate more, perks such as your name in the credits from a Special Thanks to Executive Producer will be awarded.
We will also be able to send an advanced link to the film, and links to production photographs.
The cowboy hat from the film will be our top perk.
Why we are making The Cowboy
The dream would be to win the Virgin Media Shorts competition this summer.
We want to make an entertaining short film, to be enjoyed online.
It would be a vital way for the film crew to express their talents, especially as up and coming film makers.
Other Ways You Can Help
If there is no way for you to be able to contribute financially to the film, you can contribute to the sucess of our campaign by helping share the link on Facebook, Twitter and other social networking websites.
Thank you for reading about 'The Cowboy', and we hope you enjoy the finished film!
