The Boise Town Square Santa Needs a Vacation! Please Help!!!

Many of you tried to make contributions over the past few days. My settings were wrong. That is now fixed! We want to send Santa to Napa! Please try again!

Short Summary

As we all remember, just 11 Days before Christmas, 26 innocent people, mostly children, were gunned down in horror at Sandy Hook Elementary. It was, and still remains, tragic. Also, in a town not too far away, was Santa... doing his job, posing for pictures with boys and girls from the community of Boise, ID. Just a few days before this tragedy, a picture of Santa was released to the media of Santa just kicked back with a sleeping baby boy on his chest. This picture captured the attention of people all over the world, including my own. I thought, how often we take for granted the little things in life. This Santa was just going about doing his job trying to enrich the lives of children he didn't even know and just a few short days later, a mad man would take the lives of so many others.

I decided to begin this IndieGoGo campaign as a way of saying to him "Your compassion for children has not been lost!" I thought to myself... What can I do? On my own, not really that much, but if we all just come together... even just a little bit, we can have a tremendous impact on one man that has had such a tremendous impact on so many children all over the world.... starting in Boise Idaho!

My name is John Dawson. I own a company called The Great Wine Guide. We specialize in all kinds of wine related events, trips, tastings and the like. As a result, I have been fortunate enough to make some great contacts within the wine industry and have partnered with them to ensure that this Santa and his wife will have the unforgettable Spring vacation that they both deserve.

I hope to raise in excess of $10,000 to be able to send Santa and Mrs. Claus on an all expenses paid Napa Valley (Northern California) vacation. This includes airfare, accomodations, meals, spa-treatments, private winery tours, dinner with the wine-maker and several other really cool things!

I realize that Santa had no connection to the massacre at Sandy Hook. Most of us didn't. For the majority, our lives haven't really changed all that much and that, in and of itself, is a tragedy. I, for one, have vowed to cherish every moment I possibly can and to also do whatever I can to enrich the lives of those around me. With that being said, I am just wanting to let him know that we, as a community, as people that love Christmas, want to give him a belated Christmas gift of epic proportions. As a man that obviously loves children, has dealt with runny noses, crying kids, long lines and impatient parents and all the like for the past 2 months, I just feel it's time that he deserves to be shown a little love and gratitude in return. Will you please help me?

What We Need & What You Get

We need $10,000 before January, 31, 2013 in order to present him with the gift on Valentine's Day.

Please check out the various levels of sponsorship and what rewards we offer for your contribution. If for whatever reason we do not reach our goal of $10,000, every dime we do raise will go to Santa and his family.
