/ The Story

We are big Olympic fans who work at a Toronto design agency called Jacknife.  When we saw Gilmore Junio give up his spot to allow Denny Morrison to race instead (and bring home a silver medal), we were inspired to do something special for Gilmore to recognize his incredible personal sacrifice.

It's easy to celebrate the winners - they get medals! But we think Gil Junio is the biggest winner of all.  He proved it with the dedication he showed to both his team and his country. No one deserves to be rewarded more than Gilmore and we want to give him a gold medal of his own.  We believe the rest of Canada does too.

Will you help us thank Gilmore with his own gold medal?

/ What We Need & What You Get

Our team is made up of experienced designers who have volunteered their time and expertise to design this medal for Gil.

What we are asking for is your help to fund the materials and manufacturing costs, and more importantly, to let Gilmore know how many Canadians were touched by his selfless act.

Any funds that don't go towards making and delivering Gilmore his medal will go to
Speed Skating Canada or to a charity of Gil Junio's choice.

We are actively seeking ways to make this medal as efficiently as possible including contacting suppliers and manufacturers to see if they want to contribute, but we can't count on that.

/ The Impact

We think that this is an amazing opportunity to celebrate and recognize a Canadian hero for his personal sacrifice. Junio's actions really embody what it means to be Canadian and while he probably doesn't expect any kind of reward for what he did, we definitely think he deserves one!
