What is TesserAct?
TesserAct is a first person physics based platformer, built by the small 6 man team Propelled Bird. Set inside a universe based on scientific theory, student Sam is inexplicably teleported to the decaying Heywood-Bowman facility, where she stumbles upon the Catalyst, a device that can manipulate the laws of physics. Unsure of where she is, Sam must use the Catalyst to navigate through the ruins of the Heywood-Bowman facility, and search for a way home.
We love Science!
We're building TesserAct with the idea in mind to explain it in depth. We are taking the time to research real scientific theories and use them within the TesserAct universe. This includes colonizing space, physics guns, evolution, and even multiverse theory! All of this information can be obtained in game, but don't worry, you don't have to be Stephan Hawking to understand what's going on.
The Unreal Development Kit
TesserAct is being built on the Unreal Development Kit (UDK) powered by the Unreal Engine 3. We strive to build not only a fun game, but an aesthetically pleasing game as well. Thus, we are taking advantage of the UDK's graphical features by making worlds with realistic facial animation, reflective water, dynamic fluid surfaces, and more!
The SoundtrackTesserAct features a completely original soundtrack scored and produced by electronic artist "a beagle" and guitarist Stuart Tow. The soundtrack is included in the Special Edition of TesserAct!
The Nerd Herd
Propelled Bird Software was started in 2011 when a group of friends sat around a lunch table in small town Holbrook, Arizona, and the the idea to make a game arose. Ideas floated about and after a solid hour of opinions, they decided to take the challenge. For the next month, we spent our afternoons huddled in the back room of our high school's Audio/Visual department, working furiously on whiteboards tweaking and reworking the ideas we had. After a few months, the concept for TesserAct was born.
The team currently is comprised of:

Why we need your help:
It simply breaks down to licensing. Making games can get expensive, even with a small team. These costs translate roughly to:
- UDK licensing - $100
- MayaLT - $50 per month
- Adobe Flash - $50 per month
Since most of the asset development is complete, goal for our IndieGoGo campaign is only about $200, but due to IndieGoGo minimums, we are set at a $500 dollar goal. Regardless if we don't make our goal, we'll be putting any and all of your funding towards these licensing costs alone.
