WESTMEAD CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL HAS CONTACTED US AND WILL BE OFFICIALLY OUR SECOND VISIT! RANDWICK RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE AND WESTMEAD CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!
We want to thank you everyone who has helped us fund this mission, to visit and fund a project of this nature takes a person with true altruism and a big heart, and for that we are so grateful. It uplifts us and to make it possible for us to create a great day for kids fighting a battle each day, we are incredibly grateful.
WE'RE CONFIRMED TO BE VISITING RANDWICK RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE ON THE 21ST OF MARCH! WE HAVE BATMAN, CAT WOMAN, RED SPIDERMAN, BLACK SPIDERMAN AND SUPERMAN AND NINJA PHOTOGRAPHER COMING TO FIGHT THE VILLAIN OF SICKNESS WITH THE KIDS AT RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE!!!!!!
HELP US ON OUR MISSION!
We're given one life and so we've got to give it all we got. We entered this world empty handed and leaving it the same way so life isn't about the acquirement of materialistic things because in the end you don't take any of it when you pass on. We’re Wendy and Kai and we are very fortunate to have found each other and very grateful for our health and ability to do the things we love! We believe in giving back to the world and we know you do too, creating a legacy for the world and making a positive impact. There is a beauty in giving to others, and it really is the simplest things, smiles, laughter and great memories.
We want to create a band of superheroes to visit kids at Ronald McDonald Houses and children hospitals. Many of these kids are dealing with illnesses and circumstances that many of us are fortunate enough to not personally go through in life. Many are fighting against cancer, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, heart disease and the list goes on... Our aim is to bring smiles and great memories to all these young heroes as well as their families.
Why superheroes?! WHY NOT IS THE QUESTION! We all loved superheroes as children because of what they represent, which is HOPE and BRAVERY. We want to send our best wishes and hope to all the brave heroes we have the chance to meet.
We have a group of friends based in Sydney who are passionate and obsessed with creativity and expression. Some who are inspiring performers who have come aboard on our project. Many of us have also been given the opportunity to dress up in our costumes and visit superhero themed kids parties which were a complete blast!!!
We’re very grateful to be able to do what we love and have our health and so we want to do what we can to give these children a great experience and really to make their day with a visit from their favourite superheroes.
At times we may lose hope and need a reason to keep on going, for us, this is a chance to serve the world in our own way and fulfil a life purpose. We believe in life, we are to give back and we really want to push forward this idea about giving and abundant living. This is our own little way of giving back to the world, bringing superheroes and spreading smiles to sick kids. These kids who are fighting each day are truly heroes and we look up to them and their families for their strength.
Positivity and laughter goes a long way! Research has shown clear evidence that optimism brings out vitality! We as a band of superheroes want to bring a happy day to these children and fight the villain of sickness TOGETHER!
As long as we are alive and healthy, we want to know that our life means something and that we can be a part of something that will make someone’s life better even if it is a little thing we can do like dress up as superheroes and visit kids.
HOW THE MISSION STARTED
What got us to embark on this mission, was a story about a 5 year old boy, Ty Louis Campbell. The story was shared to us by Kai's sister, Judy, it was a story that touched her and a story that touched us. Kai and I sat down and read the blog written by Ty's mother, we felt so moved by the story and so much compassion for all the young children battling illnssses and we felt so inspired by the strength and bravery of not only the kids but also their parents and families. We really wanted to give back somehow and to act on something and not just leave it as a story that we felt touched by, we felt inspired to do something for kids at care houses and hospitals as well as their families.
Ty's mother's blog can be found at http://tylouis.blogspot.com.au/, there she writes of her experiences and Ty's story and her own.
It is really Ty's story that really empowered us to create this mission. It inspired us to contact Randwick Ronald McDonald House, NSW and from that point we visioned this to be bigger than one visit.
Together, the two of us, fed off each other’s energies and ideas to create something bigger than ourselves. We feel very passionate about this and it brings us so much excitement and joy to be able to take this idea to the NEXT LEVEL and to create a community of superheroes to take to visit young fighters!
Our vision grew and we believe this project is destined to not just stay and stop at one Ronald McDonald House, it is to extend all over Sydney, Australia and even the world.
Our hope is to bring as many smiles and good memories to as many kids who are fighting with so much bravery and strength! We want them to be reminded that the world is there to support them, all the superheroes are fighting with them. They are not alone, the world has their back.
ALONE WE CAN DO SO LITTLE, TOGETHER WE CAN DO SO MUCH!
