Doreen Brownstone, Gislina Patterson, Arne MacPherson and Daniel Thau-Eleff are hard at work in the studio, rehearsing Judith Thompson's Such Creatures. Come see us January 2nd - 5th, at the Colin Jackson Studio Theatre at Prairie Theatre Exchange, 3rd floor of Portage Place.
85-year-old Sorele goes back to Auschwitz. 15-year-old Blandy waits in a park for the fight of her life. A story of love, hate, strength and hope, as two women come face to face with monsters.
Winnipeg's senior professional actor, Doreen Brownstone acted in the first show at Manitoba Theatre Centre in 1958 and has received numerous lifetime achievement awards. Gislina Patterson is a young actor who adapted and performed in Fringe-hit The Tracey Fragments. Arne MacPherson has directed with many of Winnipeg's theatre companies, most recently, indy hit The Walworth Farce. Daniel Thau-Eleff is known to Winnipeggers for his playwriting, including Remember the Night.
We are thrilled to be bringing together this exciting creative team, rounded out by designers Jeremy Rampton and Jaymez to tackle Judith Thompson's intense, captivating play.
Such Creatures is receiving support from the Manitoba Arts Council and we are only $2,000 away from meeting our budget. We hope you will be able to help us make this project a reality and we look forward to seeing you at the show!
