An educative storybook app designed to introduce children to wonders of nature and plant life
Daisy and Roger are two kids like so many others: they enjoy playing with their cat Gregor, sometimes they quarrel among each other, and want to become, respectively, a ballet dancer and a jet pilot.
In addition they are passionate about nature thanks to their dad Sebastian, a world-renowned botanist and ecologist.
Oh, I almost forgot... The year is 2080 and the two kids are traveling on a large interstellar spaceship to carry out a delicate mission: find planets suitable to preserve the terrestrial flora, threatened by pollution and by destruction of our ecosystem.
Spring Mission is an educative resource for kids (and their parents) to learn about plant life by means of amazing Sci-Fi adventures mixed with enjoyable educational components.
Each interactive storybook will be illustrated with charming artwork to spread a message everyone needs to remember: we have to protect our nature and bio-diversity!
Our project is to develop a first Application for iOS and Android mixing:
- an enjoyable story;
- amazing illustrations;
- funny animations;
- puzzle games;
- educational contents and tips on how to grow the plant in your own garden.
The storybook will contain 15 wonderful illustrated and animated pages, all with written and audio texts in English, French, Italian and Spanish.
We’re ready to go. All we need is your support in order to get this project off the ground.
Please, if you’re thinking of a kid who might love our space family, don’t wait: help us fill the reservoir of the spaceship, and be ready to follow Daisy & Co. in this adventure!

The hard part is already done - Angelo wrote the first story and Laura designed the main characters - but the journey is still long.
Our spaceship is almost built, but we need your help for the fuel!
We did a detailed budget for all aspects of the remaining production, including the inevitable snags and sneaky costs in development, and we need founds basically to cover illustration and development, and even also:
- Translations and editing in English, French, Italian and Spanish
- Actors to speak the text in English, French, Italian and Spanish
- Music and sound effects
- Proof reading and final testing
- Developing a supporting web site
- Marketing activities
To these costs must then add Indiegogo's and transaction fees, taxes, and cost of the perks...
All our supporters will freely download the storybook in both versions iOS and Android (if you don't have a tablet, we'll provide a PDF eBook version for you... and you can always download your app for free in the future).
And for a contribution to the space gas we have designed some amazing perks:
- an illustrated newsletter to be updated step by step on the development;
- the Spring Mission's colouring book, a special printable PDF version of the storybook with all the illustrations in black and white;
- the exclusive eBook "Oreste's Space Kitchen", with twelve illustrated vegetarian recipes from the Mediterranean tradition (all based on seasonal vegetables);
- a digital version of the Spring Mission's Workbook, full of draft and information on writing, illustrating and developing a children storybook, plus additional artworks not included in the final version;
- the limited edition Spring Mission hardcover book (in English, French or Italian) for the paper lovers;
- a funny t-shirt (for men, women and kids);
- a day tour with the authors visiting the "Minerva’s Garden", the oldest botanical garden in Europe, a delicious dinner, and an exclusive super limited edition (only 3 copies in the world!) printed book with an original illustrated story realized only for you.
Shipping costs for US, Canada and EU are already built into the rewards.
Story & Characters
Daisy and Roger cross the galaxy with their dad Sebastian to find new worlds adapt to grow terrestrial plants and flowers, and saving them from extinction. In each episode, this amazing family land on a new planet, meet bizarre aliens, and help them to solve their problems using terrestrial plants and flowers.
Daisy is a 10 years old girl and, despite her age, she is very smart and always finds solutions to problems... Solutions sometimes mad, often amazing, but always entertaining. Roger is her 12 years old brother and he is a real pest: great music fan and martial arts enthusiast, but he likes nothing better than get into trouble due to his stubbornness.
Sebastian is a loving father and a brilliant scientist. He is known as the greatest botanist in the world and for this reason he was entrusted to lead the Spring Mission. Hann is their mom: she remained on the Earth to follow her work as biologist and can communicate with them only via space-videoconference.
Gregor is a cat-mentor that can speak like a human using an electronic collar... But he is pedantic as only an old professor can be! In fact, in addition to assist Sebastian in his scientific researches, he is also the Daisy and Fabian's teacher. Oreste is the robot factotum that works as gardener and chef on the spaceship: hyperactive and pragmatic, often him and Gregor disagree about solutions and ideas, so the interaction between the philosophical cat and the peppy robot is the driving force of many comical gags.
