Two companies team up to create a smart fitness system to coach and motivate exercise for the rest of us.
Think of it as an exercise solution for real people who want to feel great without subjecting their bodies to high-impact, extreme fitness programs. No trainer required. Now there’s an App and connected service for that—combined with a unique exercise device based on the principles of how our bodies move naturally in everyday life.
ThinkFit, Inc., maker of the SmartBells exercise system, and Presto Services Inc., (presto.com) developer of a specialized family email service, have co-invented SmartBells Genius, a new system built on ThinkFit’s revolutionary SmartBells exercise device that has been proven to develop core strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health. It combines ThinkFit’s patented hand-held, strength building devices with an exercise App and service by Presto that integrates 1) easy-to-follow video training, 2) real-time motion tracking and feedback during exercise, and 3) post-workout reporting – delivered via the user’s own iPhone or iPod Touch.
David Grove is CEO of ThinkFit. He is a former health club industry executive, amateur drug-free bodybuilder and life-long advocate of healthy living who brings a wealth of consumer-oriented and industry-based knowledge to the SmartBells Genius project. Dave says, “The problem with most fitness products is that people don’t know how to use them and tire of watching the same workout DVD over and over. Although there are a proliferation of exercise apps that are at least more portable, they don’t solve the core problem — they aren’t Integrated, convenient and don’t enhance the exercise experience.” [full bio below]
Peter Radsliff is CEO of Presto Services. He and his Presto team members have a long history and deep experience in technology integration, user experience design and online service development. Peter says, “The combination of a mobile video workouts library and real-time motion tracking is a fitness game changer. It fundamentally improves the exercise experience by showing what to do, how well you are doing it, and what you did—that gets to the core of motivation and making a fitness program fun.” [full bio below]
Dave and Peter believe that there are now a perfect storm of technologies and connectivity that can get to the root of ongoing fitness motivation. Their goal in working together is to combine fitness instruction with real-time feedback and historical tracking to fundamentally change how people feel about exercise. They believe deeply that fitness can be fun when it’s fresh, educational, portable and personal.
Here are two brief videos that show 1) how SmartBells can be used for peak performance training, and 2) for how SmartBells Genius provides fitness coaching wherever you are. Seeing them will demonstrate why SmartBells Genius will change the way you think about gyms, personal trainers and exercise.
“Since starting with SmartBells, I've lost about 40 pounds and have seen TREMENDOUS changes in my flexibility and can, for the first time, say I don't wake up every morning with an aching back.”
— from Kevin B., SmartBells Genius Beta Tester

RESERVE YOUR PERK NOW:
You can help us make SmartBells Genius a reality and reserve one of the first production units for yourself at a substantial discount. Here’s where we are with the project. We already have the patented SmartBells. And we already have developed a prototype online service and mobile App to serve up the initial workout videos for iPhone or iPod Touch (sorry Android users, that will come as soon as we can). But the key element we need from you right now is funding for the SmartMount which safely and securely connects your smart phone to the SmartBells. We have the design, and it is awesome! It fits almost all smart phones with or without cases and holds them securely during exercise. But we need your financial backing to help us finish the design for manufacture, to buy tooling and inventory, and pay for assembly of our first run of SmartBells Genius. This is your chance to be part of a revolution in fitness and we have created some special perks for those decide to back us. Reserve your perk now and make exercise fun before everyone else discovers SmartBells Genius for themselves.

SmartBells Genius at the gym.
If you don’t always workout on your own, SmartBells also works great in a gym setting, like group fitness classes. There is a “data only” mode in the App that tracks your calories burned, workout progress and intensity giving you the real-time feedback you need to keep on going. And, you then receive “credit” for your in-gym workouts along with the ones tracked when using SmartBells Genius at home.
The following video is by SmartBells Master Trainer Randi Moser. The video shows other trainers how SmartBells can be extremely effective for group fitness classes. This video provides good examples of many different SmartBells exercises. Skip around the video to see a few.
Anatomy of SmartBells Genius
Calling all Training Professionals.
Part of our success will come from the professional fitness training community. We’ve already seeded the ThinkFit Workouts Library with videos from select SmartBells trainers. But our vision is to have hundreds of SmartBells Genius videos in the ThinkFit Workouts Library made by creative fitness professionals who know how to make exercise programming fun and effective. We are creating a system that allows us to share revenue with developers of exercise content for ThinkFit. Interested fitness professionals should visit thinkfit.com/trainers.
