The Founders: College Friends

The story of ShopCloset: Fabienne Charbonnet and Devin Blase first met in a terribly boring Art History class at UCLA. Little did they know, a few years later they would become business partners. In winter of 2010, Fabienne and Devin dove head first into their first collaboration, an online venture named ShopCloset.com. By raising money the old fashioned way, Fabienne and Devin are asking family and friends to help them take the ShopCloset brand to the next level!

ShopCloset: The Dream

ShopCloset is a community and online marketplace for buying and selling your personal fashion discoveries. Retail therapy may be fun, but closet therapy puts the money back in your pocket. Give new life to once treasured blouses, skirts and shoes now collecting dust in your closet. Make money while sharing the love. We all know there's no better place to find a great outfit than the closets of our sisters, best friends and mothers. Why not take it a step further? The possibilities are endless, if you know where to look. We present a new way to shop: ShopCloset.

ShopCloset: It’s Useful

ShopCloset is a win for your closet and the planet.  Follow your favorite closets, gain access to incredible fashion finds, turn excess clothing into income, all while re-using and re-cycling your own ready-to-wear.

ShopCloset: The Bills

ShopCloset is looking for funding NOW to invest in the 2012 business year.  Our invitations for the BETA pre-launch are being sent out December 8th.  The public launch is taking place in the first quarter of 2012. We are completely self funded and utilizing our life savings and minimum income from side jobs to live our dream.  ShopCloset is our baby and we want to send her to college (well sort of)!  This is where you come in:

We are asking that you donate some of your pocket change to our start-up fund.  Below you can view our "Sliver-of-a-shoestring Budget," the bare minimum of what MUST be raised for ShopCloset each financial quarter.  In the "Perks for Your Contribution" column to the right, we've shown you the difference between a $100 and $5000 budgetary items.  You can donate $1 or more and every dollar counts!  We have until March 24, 2012 to reach our goals for Q1 & Q2.

NOTE: 100% of donations will be directly invested in the company.

*If you would like to receive updates on ShopCloset business news (additions to our board, press releases), see the business plan or become an investor (investment for equity), please contact us at investorrelations@shopcloset.com!

The $3,000 Sliver-of-a-shoestring Budget: If we reach our $6000 goal for Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 of 2012, your contributions will be distributed as follows.
1)Premium PayPal account for guaranteed safe transactions in the ShopCloset marketplace. (Cost $150/month or $450 per Quarter)
2)Emergency Development/Programming: (Cost $400/month or $1200 per Quarter)
3)24/hr customer service via email (Cost $300/month or $900 per Quarter)
4)Accounting (Cost $150/month or $450 per Quarter)

If we exceed $6000, the remaining $1000 will go towards one of the following:

What we can do with $100-$500:
-Creating Featured Closet videos, this money goes to a contracted video editor. ($100)
-Ensuring safe and guaranteed transactions via PayPal on ShopCloset.com ($150/month, $450 total for Q1)

What we can do with $500-$1500:
-Google Ad Words:  In order for ShopCloset to grow, we need more users.  Google Ad words is the worlds largest marketing utility for acheiving this goal.  ($500/month, $1500 total Q1)

What we can do with $1000-$3500: These are the most important for ShopCloset to stay ahead of the competition.  The majority of money raised will go towards keeping afloat, excess donations will go towards product development to complete the following...
-New Site Feature:  Brand alerts, a function that allows people to tag their favorite designers so that every time that Designer is listed in the marketplace they are the first to be alerted. (cost: $1000)
-New Site Feature:  The ability for users to comment on every item in the market place. (cost: $1000)
-New Site Feature: Create function for users to upload their email contacts (gmail costs $3500, yahoo costs $3500, hotmail costs $3500)

What you can do for free:
Make some noise about ShopCloset!  We need to spread the word.
