Meet Wilson, a 41 year old husband and father who has been paralyzed since last December due to tumors on his spine.
- Wilson is our friend and we want to help him recover his life back
- With your help, you can save this man's life and his family
Before Wilson became paralyzed by the tumors on his spine, he was working hard providing for his family. He is one of the most gentle, humble human beings I have ever met. I still remember the day we were able to take him outside for a few hours from the government hospital. There under a tree sat Wilson in a broken wheelchair, watching the sun set with the biggest smile I have ever seen. When I asked why Percy his wife wasn't there at the hospital caring for him, I was informed she was three hours away in the village working as a school teacher. She had to work so she could support them all, sending money to their relatives so they could buy Wilson's medicine and pay for catheters. Percy and Wilson hadn't seen each other in months as they couldn't afford the transportation. The best days for Wilson were when he could hear his wife's voice on the phone. Right before Wilson became paralyzed, Percy gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Favor. For Percy this meant she was still nursing, caring for their other three children, and working to care via long distance for her paralyzed husband. Percy is a loyal and nurturing wife and mother.
"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love..."
Wilson needs your help
Here is what we plan to do:
- We need to raise $25000 to fly Wilson from Africa to India and pay for the surgery he needs to remove the tumors on his spine, and return him safely to Africa for his rehabilitation
Flights for Wilson, family member-helper, and Rachael, taxi, car
11% Food/Accommodations/After Care
Wilson’s care extended to guest-house near hospital until Dr.’s say he can return to his home. (Rachael will assist with Wilson's care once he is stable enough, as she has nursing school background) - The hospital suggested this to reduce costs after his surgery and initial 5-7 day stay in Hospital
Includes 5-7 day stay in Hospital, food, and nursing care
We want to make sure they have access to clean water and misquote nets. To us its paramount that we assist Wilson and Percy in obtaining a second income to make up for the one Wilson lost when he became ill and could no longer work. Whether in a wheel chair or not, Wilson can still support his family! We are looking into getting them a cow, chickens or goats something that will help them maintain self-sufficiency.

Which Hospital will you be using?
We are speaking with several hospitals in India that offer the surgery that Wilson needs for the most reasonable cost and optimal success rate.
Will Wilson walk again?
Dr.'s have told us the chances of Wilson regaining his ability to walk are better the sooner he can be treated. They also informed us he needs the tumors removed to decompress his spinal cord to avoid further damage...
