English:

The ancient city of Paestum, founded by the Greeks in southern Italy at the end of the seventh century BC and since 1998 in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Properties, is currently suffering a serious crisis due to land ownership in private hands, which is limiting its preservation and development and causing serious problems to the structures not yet excavated, but damaged by mechanical equipment used for agriculture.

Legambiente Onlus, the largest Italian environmental organization, launched an environmental shareholder to buy those lands, protecting them from unsuitable using and returning them to tourists’ enjoyment.

To purchase the first site takes about 70,000 dollars.

The common thread of Paestumanità is the participation of people, organizations, associations, which together can participate to the management of our cultural heritage and want to take care of it along with relevant institutions, to be a little less users of a cultural service and a bit more citizens for the common good, becoming shareholders!

Commitment to the project consists in buying one or more Good Share, the cost is 65 dollars each.

You can join individually and become a shareholder of Paestumanità.

The funds will help the purchase of Paestumanità individual lots and the payment of legal fees, in compliance with applicable laws. For the management of real estate assets Legambiente will provide a foundation to ensure the utmost transparency.

You can help spreading out the initiative:

• By talking about it to family and friends.

• By posting our banner on your personal sites.

• By sending a Paestumanità postcard to friends abroad.

• By organizing initiatives to support it (meetings, presentations and events).

• By promoting Paestumanità within your public initiatives through the material you can find here.

Italiano:

È possibile contribuire a diffondere l'iniziativa:

• Parlandone a parenti e amici.
