Disabled Woman with Recently Hospitalized Son Has Had Her Life's Saving's Stolen

Pamela Brooks has multiple sclerosis, and her son recently had a stroke. Despite that extreme hardship, she still found the kindness in her heart to allow a new friend and his two children to live in her home. Unfortunately, her kindness was repaid with betrayal. While Pamela believed the man to be newly sober and on the road to recovery, that turned out to not be the case. The truth was that he was a addict and a thief. He cleared her life savings - over twenty-five thousand dollars - as well as burglarizing many of her neighbors' homes.
Now, she is left with nothing - no money, no way to get it back because the bank says they will not reimburse her for anything; it was longer than sixty days from the first incident. She has no travel accomodations since town is a forty dollar taxi drive away. She and her son both need costly medical attention, and her mortgage looms as well. As if that weren't enough, the lives of this man's two children (13 & 15) are also in her hands, and he was not even trustworthy enough to not steal from them.

We Need to Save Her Home - for Her and the Children

For now, it seems possible to just barely squeak by on three to five thousand dollars. That amount will cover:
  • The mortgage
  • Food for all four of them
  • Medical expenses for her multiple scleroris and her son's recent stroke
  • Replacements for all the physical items stolen from the children, not the least of which is clothing

The Impact

With your help, these four people will be able to live through at least the holiday season. Two young children, whose future is now uncertain because of the actions of their father, will continue to have a place to live and clothing on their backs. A young man who recently had a stroke, and his mother suffering from MS will be able to pay their medical bills and continue to have a home. Your kindness can balance the betrayal this group of people has suffered.

Other Ways You Can Help

If you cannot help monetarily, please, please, spread the word to those who might have that ability. The more people who see this, the better. We just want our friend to survive this.
