A big thanks to our contributors for their support of our funding campaign with Sandeep Das.
With your generous support, we have successfully scheduled our first concert with Sandeep.
The concert will open Bleep Blop's 4th season at Berklee College of Music, David Friend Recital Hall, September 26th.
The music will feature electronically manipulated tabla, analog synthesis, live video and a new work for iPad ensemble. Our prior performances have successfully merged the art of acoustic music with the mystique of audio technology, but for this concert, we are going to bring improvisation and technology to a new level.
A bit about us:
Bleep Blop has the profound honor of working with tabla master, Sandeep Das during our 2013-14 season.
Performer/composer Sandeep Das, twice nominated for Grammy Awards, performs regularly with the Silk Road Ensemble and Yo-Yo Ma as well as several internationally renowned artists. Sandeep's very extensive bio can be read here.
One of Bleep Blop's primary missions is to make music technology accessible to a wide variety of performers, composers and other artists. We are committed to the music of young and emerging composers, and we have premiered 13 works and performed countless others over the last 3 years.
Sandeep Das and Bleep Blop will write lots of new music, record and perform these new works, and release lots of media.

The project details:
We're looking to raise $5000 for the season, and here's what we'll be doing with the money.
- Paying our performers for at least two performances and a recording session. This includes Sandeep & Pei-Yeh Tsai (piano). Both make livings as freelance performers.
- Commissioning new works. Bleep Blop will be composing a lot of our own music for this project, but we also love to work with other composers.
- Recording and producing an album featuring the music of this project.
- Bleep Blop's operating costs. We have to rent spaces to perform in, and we'll use some of the funds to complete our non-profit applications.
We'll be producing multiple live concerts, recording everything and cutting an album in both physical and digital media, and we need your generous support.
If we don't reach our goal, we'll be using the funds to hire Sandeep for two concerts, and we'll record an album on our own.
What makes this special?
Bleep Blop has never worked with such a high profile artist, and Sandeep hasn't had the chance to work with some music technology. We aim to provide a deep learning experience to our audiences as to the possibilities of electroacoustic music when combined with creative artists.
Sandeep's broad experience with Indian classical music and crossover classical mixed with our innovative approaches will no-doubt open up a world of new possibilities.
Can't afford to contribute?
You can still help us reach our goal. Please spread the word about this project. Like it on Facebook, Tweet it, send it via email, etc. Every little bit counts.
