THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED US REACH OUR GOAL! TO KEEP UP TO DATE ON THE FILM'S PROGRESS, PLEASE FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK!

The Story

After being bullied and beaten at school for dressing like a boy, Sam escapes into the fields surrounding her house. When she can't find her way out, she's forced to spend the night there, slipping into a strange fantasy world where she must confront her identity and choose between who she is and who society thinks she should be.

The Impact

Sam will provide an artistic and unique perspective on gender identity and the people who inhabit our lives. In a world where children and young adults are harassed, bullied, and even murdered for who they are, the film also aims to provide encouragement to young people who are discovering who they are, where their place is, and who they want to be.

About the Director

Sal Bardo is a New York-based writer and director. His short film, Requited, recently made its world premiere as an official selection of the Seattle International Film Festival and will be screening at NewFest: The New York LGBT Film Festival on July 22 and July 23, 2011.
