Room 8 The Other Side
The trailer you just saw was created out of the footage of a documentary which was filmed in 2002.
Hi, I’m Richard Craske. I work as a Director, Cameraman and Writer who has spent over 20 years in the film industry filming features, docs, short films, plays, commercials, music videos, you name it!
Having had a personal supernatural encounter after visiting the King's Chamber, in the Great Pyramid in Egypt. I decided to to make a TV pilot about the paranormal, which inspired the feature film Room 8.
What is Room 8?
Room 8: The Other Side started several years ago. I directed a television pilot filming in a small hotel in Cornwall, England, which had a reputation for strange happenings. Our film crew, as well as an actress and an undercover Sunday Times reporter stayed for a terrifying night in room 8.
Room 8 is a feature film script based on what occurred that night.
Since that shoot, I have been determined to create a ghost story grounded in reality and not make believe. I have collaborated with mediums and associations such as the Ghost Club of Great Britain to use as many facts as possible to produce a film which represents the truth about ghosts. The more people I meet, the more I realise that thousands of you have experienced spirits and the supernatural. No more talking, it is time that the world found out what happened in Room 8.
The Campaign (what we need and what you get)
We have decided to create the Room 8 Indiegogo campaign so that we can include many more people in the making and the financing of this film.
What we need is $55,000 of help to fund the development and pre-production of Room 8. We need to test CGI and post production techiques, film a trailer. The script requires a professional polish, the locations in the US and UK need to be found and visited, casting finalised and markets like AFM and Toronto attended to help raise the $500,000 budget needed. All money remaining will go towards the main Room 8 budget.
Check out our perks.
In exchange for your generous HELP we are offering some USEFUL REWARDS for BUDDING FILMMAKERS. Not only DVD’S, but also a chance to work daily and weekly in the different production departments. You can be attached to the editing dept, production dept, sound dept, lighting dept, art dept and camera dept. There are also great rewards on offer such as IMDB credits, Executive Producer, Associate Producer, Producer etc. And the most unique perk is the opportunity to tell your personal ghost story in the end credits.
We also offer signed DVDs, scripts, tickets to the premiere and wrap party, dinner with the director and producer and cast if available and the possibility of appearing in the actual film and much more. Also, if you have a great idea for your own personal perk which doesn't appear on our site, let us know by emailing:
But most importantly, we want to hear from all of you who have also been touched by the supernatural like I have. Your stories will help me to make Room 8 the most realistic ghost film ever. As one of our perks, we will put YOUR OWN PARANORMAL STORY link (youtube, vimeo, photo, document, etc..) directly on our Indiegogo page for everyone to experience.

UPDATE 10TH APRIL, 2013:
We are off to a great start with an article on PR Newswire:
Paranormal Pop Culture Draws A Crowd
Film Director haunted by personal ghost experience launches his film on Indiegogo
LONDON, April 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Simply type "paranormal" or "ghost hunter" into Twitter to discover the extent that the supernatural is trending. The spirit world has become the mainstay of thousands of blogs and youtube videos from amateur investigators worldwide.
Film maker Richard Craske 's foray into the paranormal began well before the current hysteria. As a young cameraman, he joined his fellow crew members in irreverently jumping into the Pharaoh's sarcophagus while on film location. He left Egypt with more than just a movie credit. Constant nightmares featuring a crocodile headed beast convinced Richard to seek outside help to rid himself of what he was told was a possession by the guardian of the tomb. Although a spirit clearage cured his symptoms, Richard remained obsessed by this experience. Another close call with an entity during filming of a television pilot inspired Richard to devise Room 8, a film based on the "truth about ghosts".
"I wanted to make a film based on reality and not make believe," exhorts Richard.
"Room 8 will thrill and entertain, but also warn of the dangers of delving into the supernatural world."
The film's crowdfunding campaign just launched 5th April, on Indiegogo which recently opened its site to UK residents. The innovative perks offered include a chance for budding film makers to work directly on the production. The most enticing perk, however, is the opportunity for anyone with a personal ghost story to be part of the film's closing credits in a split screen similar to that in Love Actually.
Room 8 has already sparked waves of interest across the social media with several paranormal sites collaborating with the film's development team. Others in the #paranormalfamily have offered to share the Room 8 link with their followers.
As Richard knows, the supernatural can haunt you long after the spirits has passed over to the other side.
