First of all “THANK YOU” It’s an honor to have you becoming part of the team ROMEO y ROMEO. We think that this film has great potential and we hope you're as excited as us.

Romeo and Romeo is the final project of Guerrilla Filmmaking, a program of La Escuela de Cine de Puerto Rico that aims to train students and that they learn to work without any and / or a low budget.

Students registered are part of the technical and creative crew working hand in hand with professionals from the film industry.

The important thing is to contribute and be part of this great project.

Only our backers will get an exclusive look at our short film. If you agree with at least $20, you will receive a high-definition digital copy of the finished film, and agrees from $1,000 will have the opportunity to appear in the credits of the film as Associate Producer.


Two teenagers in Puerto Rico and the discovery of love through fairy tales and skateboards. Confronted by their desires and repressions these two teens confront religious and social repressions condemning the chances of accepting their homosexuality.

This film presents the social differences affecting the country and at the same time as religion responds to social status. Romeo and Julio are the result of traditional and fundamentalist families where the only salvation is dressing up in a costume party to unleash their freedom.


The cast

Lillian Hurst

Has participated in more than 20 films, including the Puerto Rican film "I am a Director" recently released in theaters. It has featured in local series and international television as "NYPD Blue", "The King Of Queens", "The X-Files", "ER", "Lost", "True Blood" as well as guest appearances on shows like "Nip/Tuck". Currently resides in Los Angeles where she continues her career as an actress.

Efraín López Neris

A director and actor of film and television with more than 30 year of career. His filmography includes movies like "Isabel La Negra", "La Palomilla" and “Que Familia más Normal", "Cayo" and "Miente".

Nancy Millan

An actress more than fifteen years of experience in the field of acting and music, Nancy has participated in theater, film and television. She is the author of the acclaimed musical "Mujer Invisible", a proprietorship for which she writes the script and music.

Willie Denton

An actor of Theater, Film and TV with over 30 years of experience in and outside of Puerto Rico. He has worked with the most important theater companies of Puerto Rico in all kinds of genre. In movies he stand out in films like "Under Suspicion", "Cimarron", "La Espera Desespera", "Dios Solo Mira", "D-Mente". He has participated in several television series.

Jacqueline Duprey

Has a successful career as an actress both on the island and the United States. He has worked at the Yale Repertory Theater, The Alliance Theater, Los Angeles Theater Center, Dallas Theater Center, Arizona Theatre Company, Pasadena Playhouse as well as in other theaters and companies recognized inside and outside the island. In movies, has worked with Luis Caballero in the film "El Color de la Guayaba", "Descent", "Under Suspicion" and "Linda Sara".


The Crew

Luis Caballero - Director and Screenwriter

His mentors and collaborators include Victoria Espinosa, Myrna Casas, James Larson and James Manos (Creator of Dexter) and Hugo Medrano. His extensive directing career spans over thirty years between Puerto Rico, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. In Puerto Rico has directed the films "La Gringa" and "El Color de la Guayava". He recently directed DC-7 The Roberto Clemente Story.

Rafi Mercado - Production Designer

His directorial debut is the urban fairy tale "Miente". However, it takes more than 20 years immersed in the world of film as Production Designer and Costume Designer films like "Manuela and Manuel" and "Meant To Be". To Rafi life is about learning and education. It is extremely important to move the energy to the artists of the future. Thats why he is very proud to share his art in the film "Romeo and Romeo" under the direction of his colleague Luis Caballero and under the production by Escuela de Cine de Puerto Rico.

Kathy Garcia - Producer

She is known from her space in radio on Saturdays and Sunday in La X 100.7fm. But for the last ten years has been highlighted as a producer and actress. Sonia has worked with Sonia Valentín in "Parece que Fue Ayer" was also part of the cast of the film "Entre el Cielo y Tú" and "Las Divertidas Aventuras del Aburrido Carlos”. Among his recent projects include the documentary "Los Indios de mi Pueblo", the first and only film to documentary history of baseball on the island.

Eduardo Rosado - Producer

Has been working around ten years in the film industry of the country. He is the founder of Cinemovida and Escuela de Cine de Puerto Rico. He was director and producer of "El Lado Oscuro de las Arañas", "Golpe de Estado" and "Los Indios de mi Pueblo". At present he works as Professor in Escuela de Cine de Puerto Rico and as a criticizer of films in "Gozando por la Mañana" by Fidelity 95.7FM with Raymond Arrieta.


Because we love movies and especially making movies. But not only that... Also that through film, we have the opportunity to bring a positive message that allows us to re-educate society and in this case show that love conquers all.
