The Day A Town Came Together
There's a place where neighbors still look out for neighbors, where the mail carrier knows your name, the police officer is a high school buddy and the town barber has been in business ... well, for about as long as anyone can remember.
Rockport, Massachusetts is a true, living connection to how things used to be. And this crowdfunding effort is about celebrating America's home town. The people of Rockport -- all generations, all ages -- are planning their First-ever all-Town reunion. Not a class reunion, not a team reunion: A Town reunion.
Join us as our all-volunteer, not-for-profit team puts together a day-long celebration of small town values and lifelong friendships. Celebrate an America that many may have thought was gone forever. Your contribution goes directly to defraying costs for a great event. There are no administrative fees, no paid employees, no profits. Just a great day to celebrate small town America.
Why We're Passing the Hat
For an old fashioned reunion, we need funds to pay for modern-day realities such as insurance, portable restroom facilities, security and everything else. Nobody on the team makes a penny. Nobody gets paid. We cover costs.
We've never tried anything like this before. But we've tapped into such a wealth of stories, history, memories, affection and laughter, that we can't let this moment escape. In the past seven months, as we've planned this event, we've made friendships that cross generations. We've heard stories of the old ice houses and steam locomotives, the long forgotten bowling alley, paper boys and old-fashioned service stations, the high school shenanigans, favorite teachers and the friends we thought we'd lost contact with forever.
We can't go back to how it was, but we can get together to share those memories, rebuild those friendships and pass that spirit along to future generations. We want you to be a part of this. Leave your mark on America's home town. Join us.
