Contributors fund ideas they can be passionate about and to people they trust. Here are some things to do in this section:
Hi, my name's Joel, I'm a short filmmaker/ photographer derping around in Los Angeles, I'm originally from New York and I've always wanted to make movies since my mom took me to see Empire Strikes Back when I was a kid.
I'm really into sci-fi and cross genre storytelling so usually my films are about things within these areas. Thanks for reading!
I plan on sending this film, once completed, to film festivals within the U.S. These include the San Francisco Film Festival, SXSW, LA Film Festival, and Sundance. I stongly believe that a filmmakers job is not done when they've completed a film, it is their job to share and spread it to others.
I can't really express the magnitude of what contributors help me achive, it's hard making and funding your own film, but you'd be aiding me to realize a script that I've worked on for two years now.
What We Need & What You Get
Break it down for folks in more detail:
$8,000 pays for equipment purchases and rentals, locations, permits, props and most importantly actors. In order to properly realize Rift self funding this movie and keeping total control over the script and finished product means that as director I can give a finished product without compromise.
I have some great perks for those that are willing to contribute. Anyone who donates $10 or more will get a thank you in the credits. The more you contribute the more you get. The perks include a poster, behind the scenes video, character and story note booklet, behind the scenes diary and a special print of the dvd, though keep in mind that this is in limited quantity.
Even if we don't reach the total goal, every little bit counts more towards equipment or production expenses, so please donate whatever amount you can!
Though this is my first crowdfunding project, the aid given to me will allow myself and the crew to make the film we want without having to compromise or alter our artistic vision.
Other Ways You Can Help
Some people just can’t contribute, but that doesn’t mean tyou can’t help:
Even if you can't donate, share or like this page! Every little bit of noise or money helps us more in the long run of things and if and when we're festival ready the word of mouth will really help us out the gate.
