We Need Your Help
Albuquerque, New Mexico experienced a series of volatile storms unlike anything we have seen. The city was ill prepared for such an intense bout of rain, and our local combined-front stores Gamers Anonymous and MetaLogic Computers have undergone some heavy losses during one of the heavy downpours. For many states that deal with this regularly, it may not seem like much, but in all my years here, we've never seen anything quite like this. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jon Sakura, owner of Gamers Anonymous. My partner is Buckley Johnson, who owns MetaLogic Computers, and we run our small business out of a single storefront close to Albuquerque's west side. On July 26th, a torrential rain ended up crashing through the ceiling and the back of our store. The rainfall ended up cascading down shelves of product, into tubs, bins, and throughout thousands of dollars worth of games and accessories. On the Gamers Anonymous end of things, I suffered the loss of my office, my entire workspace, and countless pieces of merchandise. Buckey, on the MetLogic side, ended up losing a full server rack, monitors, computer equipment, and tools required to function as a business.
Why We're Asking For Your Support
While we've lost a ton of merchandise, we've lost one of the biggest things that is even more important -- the ability to operate as a store. With water seeping into nearly 1/3 of our store, it's been a tremendous process to get the carpet, walls, and mildew taken care of and figuring out how to get back up to speed. With the amount of momentum we've lost as a business, we can't operate, meaning there is no income flow, so in order to find a way to pay bills, rent, and most importantly, our employees. We are now humbly asking for the assistance of the community that we strive to provide for to help us get back up and running again. It's hard to predict how long we'll be down for, so in order to get back up and running while we try to figure out our situation pertaining to property insurance, we want to find a way to keep the business active, and that's where you come in.
The Community is our Top Priority
The way our business is run is somewhat unconventional. To start, I mustemphasize our first point of design -- the customer is our priority. I've been running Gamers Anonymous for nearly 10 years, and to see our fledgling expansion store get damaged so heavily hurts me less on the level of lost merchandise, and far more on the level of not being able to provide an unparalleled gaming experience to my customers. Buckley has a similar philosophy; We just want to provide our customers with a great experience and help with the products and services they need. What differentiates us the most is that when we desire people to come into our store, it's not just because we want them to buy things. Obviously, as a business, we encourage having such a quality location that people will help support it, but more importantly than that, we want people to enjoy their time spent in our store. The best kind of business consumer relationship emphasizes a high quality understanding between a retail outlet and it's customers, and what I want is a place where anyone can come in and feel welcome, whether they're buying something or not. I love talking with people about games, and whether you're browsing games, coming in to play, stopping by to chat, or even just popping in because you've seen our sign, you are always welcome in our store.
Here's What You Can Do For Us
In order to get back on our feet as soon as possible, we're looking for some assisted funding. We've set a goal of $15,000 to help both locations get back to doing what we do. However, we understand that there is a tremendous amount of support and not everyone is able to contribute monetarily. Because of this, we also truly appreciate the help of any who choose to visit our facebook and share and support this goal. Without you, our excellent fanbase and consumers, we wouldn't be the store we are, and it's because of this that we come to you in this time of need.
