Queer Inquiries is a podcast created with the goal of broadcasting real queer voices in order to help queer identified folks become a part of the pop culture dialogue about the LGBTQ community. Gay visibility in pop culture is bigger than ever before and Queer Inquiries' creators are frustrated with the stereotyped nature of gay representation on TV and in movies.
Each episode of Queer Inquiries is a conversation between a different bunch of queers, covering subjects like discovering queerness, coming out, queer sex, masturbation, and the impact of TV and film on our understanding of ourselves. We want to broadcast queers' stories in order to impact our culture's general understanding of queerness and to create safe space for queers and folks who are still struggling to understand their sexuality and gender.
What We Need & What You Get
We need your support to continue producing high quality episodes featuring conversations with queers all around the country. With your support, the Queer Inquiries team will be able to travel to record episodes with queers outside of Washington, DC. We'll be able to use higher quality equipment to make Queer Inquiries a better and more accessible listening experience and even provide you with awesome cinematic video content. With your support, Queer Inquiries will be able to create outreach materials in order to elevate queers' voices to an even louder volume and resources to help queers around the country find safe space and community.
Queer Inquiries is an important project because it gives queer people a chance to tell their stories, it creates a community for queer people who may have none, and it gives the world a chance to understand queerness. While most pop-culture representations of gay people remain narrowly defined and stereotyped, Queer Inquiries is doing the work of broadcasting real queer voices and stories.
