Imagine a world where success wasn't focused around financial gain, but instead, dedication and work ethic. Where status was based around effort, honesty, and one's ability to produce quality rather than output quantity.
These are the motives behind Quality Thrives.
Started by two young individuals in Austin, TX, Quality Thrives aims to document the passion, struggle, and dedication of 250 everyday entrepreneurs across America. In doing so, we hope to start a conversation about the value of effort and authenticity, as well as the need for more honest, genuine content distribution on the web.
What's the purpose of this project?
- To encourage social equality and raise awareness about the need for more honest, genuine content distribution on the web/through the media
- To celebrate passion, dedication, and hard work, as well as the individuals who define those qualities
- To provide relatable, raw insight for and from everyday entrepreneurs
- To prove that anyone, regardless of social status, financial worth, age, gender, or ethnicity, is capable of achieving greatness
Chris Cerrone and Laci Urcioli, hosts of The Cerrone Show, explain the value of recognizing everyday entrepreneurs:
- Kelly Holt, founder of the Austin Phoenix Magazine
- Maryna Marston, founder of Square Earth Studio
- Christine Stafford and Kelly Curtis, brand managers for W3ll People All-Natural Cosmetics
- Michaela Cour and Brian Rainey, founders of Strkingly Fit
- Rebekah Epstein, founder of Fifteen Media PR and Glamtrepreneur

Starting in October, we'll be selling all of our material possessions and heading out on the road for a full year (or however long it takes). We'll be covering a diverse range of cities across the country including:
- Louisville, KY
- New York, NY
- Boston, MA
- Philadelphia, PA
- Chicago, IL
- Detroit, MI
- Cincinnati, OH
- Kansas City, MO
- Omaha, NE
- Bozeman, MT
- Seattle, WA
- Portland, OR
- San Francisco, CA
- Salt Lake City, UT
- Denver, CO
We estimate that we'll be driving a total of 8,579 miles and plan to do a minimum of 2 interviews per week.
We'll be investing all of our savings towards this venture and plan to use it, along with any money raised, for the following:
Equipment - As anyone in the film industry would tell you, video equipment is NOT cheap by any means. We've invested as much as we possibly can with the budget we have, however we desperately need to upgrade. Any funding made would go towards purchasing a higher-quality camera as well as audio equipment.
Living Expenses - After enduring 6 months of all-nighters we've determined that the only way to manage this project + continue freelancing is to cut our hours back, which will obviously affect our income. We'll be relying on our savings and the funding raised to cover things such as lodging, food, and gas.
Advertising - We've been able to cover the design/marketing so far, and we've got the advertising plans in place, however we can't do it all on our own. We're hoping to eventually hire a part-time marketing freelancer/designer to take over some of the responsibility, which would allow us to focus more on the interviews.
All interviews will be distributed on our website and promoted via Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram. We'll also be creating written versions of each full interview and distributing it through the Quality Thrives blog, as well as submitting select interviews as contributor pieces on websites such as entrepreneur.com,upmyaverage.com, and medium.com.
The Quality Thrives Incentive - Free branding services for startups and entrepreneurs
As entrepreneurs, we understand the difficulty of being able to afford quality design services when first launching a business, which is why we've decided to launch the Quality Thrives Incentive. This will involve us selecting one entrepreneur or business owner per quarter, and providing them with all essential branding elements such as logo and business card design, as well as design for popular social media platforms. Depending on the complexity of the project, we may also offer web design services.
There will be zero cost to the receiver however we will request that they provide a fair amount of promotion for Quality Thrives in exchange for the free services.
We're currently providing branding services for The Chris Cerrone Show as well as The Austin Phoenix Magazine as part of this incentive program.
1. Recap Book: "Quality Thrives - A Journey for Truth"
This book will feature photos and insightful quotes from all 250 interviewees, and will be released after we've completed all 250 interviews.
Donate $55 and get a free copy of the upcoming Quality Thrives book + your name listed in the back!
2. The Quality Thrives Podcast
This podcast will be released on a weekly basis and will consist of us doing re-caps of interviews, as well as discussing things that we learn/experience through our travels. The podcast will be launching in late October.
We have quite a few more plans in the works, specifically involving entrepreneurial programs for high school students, but we won't be releasing further details until plans are definite.
Regardless of whether or not this project grows, our motives will always remain the same: to never give up, to continuously pursue our passions with 100% honesty and dedication, and to always provide both value and quality for society.
