Why Project Rogue?
Hi, I’m Raymond Herrera. Over the years, close friends of mine and I have discussed working together on songs, album projects, music collaborations and video game project collaborations etc.. During the fall of 2013 I decide to figure out how I would be able to put a project together that would include the very people that I want to work with and/or could work great with one another.
My good buddy Dean Martinetti and I discussed what he thought of the idea of putting our friends together from different bands to make an album and how doing a crowd-funding campaign could be a great way to do it. The more we learned about this phenomenon known as crowd-funding, the more it made sense for us to go the crowd-funding route.
Most of us have been doing music for decades and are very fortunate to have a foundation of fans that follow us and our work as we have built our careers in this ever evolving industry. Offering a project of this magnitude direct to our fans, and having fans be a part of it, could make for an amazing combination.
I have been doing music collaborations in the Video Games Industry for almost two decades. A collaboration model like this isn't really new for me, and will make it fairly easy to be the hub tying everyone together. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the amazing talent on this list, some material has already been created and has been a great jumping off point, sparking the interest of the possibilities of who best can add their talents to what songs, serving as a great proof of concept from a song creation standpoint. Rounding out these songs will be a matter of getting tempo and guidelines on the aspects of a song/s that may still need a verse or bridge or intro etc…then getting those elements to the proper musician etc..., then to start adding those elements to pick the best ones.
We have a great list of very strong songwriters and players. I think that our biggest challenge may be weeding out the bottom 10% of material, BUT since we are doing this via crowd-funding, we will be able to have our contributors help to pick those very songs and be part of the record at this granular level. Which brings me to the next points...
Whats New!This project allows us to connect with our fans/contributors...YOU! In a way that we have never been able to. As the music and video elements come together, we can engage with fans/contributors like you who support our project.
What you get!We will be offering T-Shirts, limited edition vynil, Cd, posters, drumsticks, remixing opportunities, Tama snare drums, DW drum pedals, Ibanez guitars, location visits via recording studio and listening party. If you are a musician yourself, we give you the opportunity to be part of the album by playing/recording with us. Everyone who contributes will also receive a mobile app to this Project Rogue campaign, which instantly gets you access to candid interviews and performances and frequent behind the scenes footage of the music as it is coming together, as well as early mixes and versions of the music that you can even give feedback on!
When will it release?
Rogue Records America will be releasing the first PROJECT ROGUE album in the Fall of 2014 on Digital, Digipak CD, Limited Edition Vinyl and even a DVD with studio interviews and more.
We are looking to raise 70k support to cover the costs of manufacturing, recording studios, video production and editing costs, travel expenses, crowd funding campaign costs, press and marketing etc..
With your help we believe that we can hit this mark!
As a contributor, here is a taste of what you will get to see!

But wait, there's more!
We will be offering our newly created Rogue Table, which will feature different round table style discussions with different artists about our first recording experiences, touring experiences, and more. Essentially a glimpse of how it helped us become the artists we are today. We did a first proof of concept of this and the results were simply awesome, with information you would otherwise never really know about!
In closingWe at Project Rogue, feel that we are building something much more than an album of music or just a collaboration of artists, but a universe that you as a contributor get to be a part of. This gives you a glimpse as to what we have to offer you as our fans/contributors, and give you a different perspective into who we are and what we do best!
