Film SummaryOn May 3, 1865 President Abraham Lincoln's funeral train procession made its final stop in Springfield, IL. This is when the story begins. A body moved 14 times during construction and re-construction of the tomb, a thwarted attempt to steal the body for ransom, and the everlasting effects on the family of an assassinated husband and father.
Oak Ridge cemetery in Springfield, IL is the 2nd most visited cemetery in the nation next to Arlington National Cemetery. Rarely does 22 1/2 acres of land encapsulate so much history. This film will be the perfect story for those unable to visit the tomb and an in-depth companion piece for those who have visited.
Produced in association with the Lincoln Monument Association, the film will also share never before published photos from the association archives.
Pledge to BackersThe 150th Anniversary of President Lincoln's death is in 2015. The timing is ideal to produce the first comprehensive documentary about the tomb.
Lincoln's legacy continues to grow and to this day visitors at the tomb are emotionally affected by the tragic loss of a president and the measure of his accomplishments which changed the United States forever.
Since there are thousands of Lincoln enthusiasts throughout the world, we are able to offer gifts to the backers at a very reasonable price point. Since you are entrusting us with the time to deliver this production in 2015, we also feel the backers should receive something extra special.
Each DVD or Blu-ray will be a one-time print 150th Commemorative edition with a specially designed case label. It will also be paired with the CD soundtrack, including all originally recorded music led by Nashville artist and producer Jeb Hart.
Your Gift Never EndsThe film is independently produced. However, when the pledge gifts are fulfilled and the screenings have finished, your contribution will endure. The rights to the film will be granted to the Lincoln Monument Association. From here on out, they will retain ownership of the film and receive all contributions from DVD and Blu-ray sales. This makes you a direct contributor to the preservation of President Lincoln's monument and tomb.
How the Funds Will be SpentTwo of the perk options are for 'accelerated' donations for those interested. Although the maximized budget is $50,000, we have created production tiers to ensure the core components of the production are completed regardless.
With each additional tier, more elements will be added to the production including: 3D animated renderings of the monument, closed-captioning services, and ultimately, re-enactment scenes.
