From fimmaker John Robert Mariani, who has been a valuable asset to so many productions, it's time for him to step out on his own and take lead on one of his own projects.
That paragraph above, me briefly introducing myself, was probably one of the hardest things I've ever had to come up with, you never realize how hard it is to summarize what you've done with yourself up to this point.
I've always been successful in the aiding of a film being made/completed, and have made several attempts to direct my own work, but have always hit huge road blocks. Always keeping a journal, I've looked back at my career, and some of the stories that accompanied my productions were insane, from odd jobs and entering any contest we could do, we did what we could to get our projects finished. You can check out some of the projects I have been involved with on my IMDB profile with the link below.
So, what I'm looking to do now is to take all my stories and adapt them to the small screen. This is how I came up with the idea for "Pre." Pre. is based on the mostly true stories of three broke thirty-something friends, who won't stop at anything to get a second chance to film their dream project.
Pre. follows Johnny, Jerry, and Justin on their journey to get their feature film "Disco of the Dead" funded. Budgeting mishaps along the way have left them broke again, and with nothing left for them to do, they suck it up and re-enter pre-production. They have every intention to get this film made in any way possible.
Why Pre., why now?
"Pre." is a unique opportunity for anyone involved. The way I planned "Pre." out is that ultimately once we feel the show is finished, the final episode is the movie, "Disco of the Dead", which the crew has been working on throughout the seasons.
What You Can Do
I have never been so passionate and excited about a project! So, no matter how this crowd funding campaign turns out, this show will be made, I will not stop stop until it is.
We are trying to raise $10,000. The money we raise from this campaign will go towards getting the best equipment, paying cast & crew, who also, (everyone always forgets about this expense), staying in decent accommodations, along with proper insurance and any other expenses that will pop up along the way.
No matter the outcome of the campaign. this show will be made. I have never given up on a project, so why would this be any different, this is a project close to me, it is my story, and my struggles as a filmmaker.
Your generosity will not go unnoticed. With a huge list of perks, which we are constantly adding to, any amount donated will be rewarded with some pretty cool gifts and credit.
Meet the Cast
We've got a few parts filled at this point. We'll be holding an open call at the end of October, which we're hoping will fill the rest of the spots.
Gerald Furnari (Jerry)
Born in Queens NY, Gerald Furnari would become the weird boy with a fascination with the macabre. His mother and father raised him on comic books, Sci-Fi novels and genre films, around the clock.
Early on, he began as a child actor and stage performer. Often viewed as strange or weird by his peers; nothing would deter him from his dreams. Special effects, filmmaking and creating worlds.
He would grow into a 6ft 275 pound man, who adorned his body with the hero's and villains of his childhood in ink. Then given the name "Jerry Horror", which would stick for years to come.
Ever the journeyman creator, he would travel the world exploring his passions. From the supernatural to the sublime, Jerry Horror became an expert.
Through movie reviews and releasing his own albums. He would hone his craft acting, producing and working on varied genre projects.
Jerry Furnari still lives in NY, where he now does commercial score work.

Kyle Kjellgren is an aspiring writer and co-creator of Minimum Wage. He spent most of his early years filming homemade sketches and submersing into movies, offbeat comedy, and graphic novels. Jerry Horror (Himself)
In 2005, Gerald Furnari was given the name "Jerry Horror" by a now dead, junkie ex-girlfriend, whom overdosed on Heroin, after a subsequent cult gathering. Music was an outlet to express his grief and rage. Jerry Horror is a New York based artist unlike any other rapper. Using influences ranging from The Smiths to Slayer, Rob Zombie to The Notorious B.I.G., a sound called "Ghetto Gothic" was born.
John Mariani (Writer/Director):
Kevin Costello (Director of Photography): Kevin is the owner of IN A FLASH Productions. He has always had some type of camera in his hands since he can remember. In 1995 – 1996, he went to East Suffolk Boces for TV productions, thus starting his path to the “darkside” of the camera. He would much rather be behind the camera than in front of it. After Kevin graduated high school, he tried to pursue film school. Unfortunately he could not afford it. Having many friends that were mechanics, he went into the auto parts business.
After Kevin got married in 2008, he was reintroduced to photography, when he and his wedding photographer became friends. He was then trained on the latest camera models and the new world of digital editing instead of analog decks.
Kevin shoots video as well as photography and his wife is a very talented makeup artist which works out perfectly for shoots!
Eddie Labozzetta (Camera/Lighting): Eddie is a native Long Islander who has a B.F.A in Photography and a B.S. in Digital Cinematography. Having worked for over 15 years as a photographer largely focusing on print work. Wanting to spread his wings he returned to school to earn a degree in film. His work has been seen on both the big screen as well as television, working as a technical director, director, director of photography, cameraman and so on. Eddie is currently moving away from photography to pursue filmmaking full time.
Ralph Fabrizio (Assistant Director): Ralph is a Long Island, NY based filmmaker. From an early age, movies have always intrigued and inspired him, giving him the drive he has today. He is dedicated to the films he assists with and strives to help create the best work possible.
