Warrior Gateway is thrilled to lead the charge in transforming outdoor spaces to honor the sacrifice and service of the military community through our Patriots in Paint initiative. This Veterans day we are kicking off the initiative by painting a large scale military centered mural at the Jericho Project in New York City. We are excited to not only transform this blank wall into a work of art but also to bring color to the lives of dozens of incredible veterans living at the Jericho Project's housing unit. We invite you to learn more about our organization, this upcoming project and how you can help!
A Little About Warrior Gateway
We are Warrior Gateway, a virtual community center connecting service members, veterans and military families to each other, to their local communities and to a wealth of knowledge. We harness state-of-the art technology and community collaboration to help today's military community make better decisions about what service provider they can go to for help. A Little About Our BIG Project - Patriots in Paint!
Patriots in Paint is a program designed to build a strong network of community involvement through art, activities and multi-media platforms. Through a large-scale mural series, Patriots in Paint seeks to honor the sacrifice and service of our nation’s bravest men and women and inspire millions in the community to come together and support our nation’s veterans.
Warrior Gateway, in partnership with mural artist Sam Welty, is creating a national movement that delivers local impact by rallying the community to recognize the work of local organizations serving the military. The murals will serve as call to action to collaborate and create a holistic solution to support our veterans and military families.
Below is a time lapse example of Sam's incredible talent as he creates a temporary chalk mural at the Charlottesville, VA Freedom of Speech Wall:
Our Project Partners
We are proud to partner with the Veteran Artist Program for the Arts & Service Celebration and the Jericho Project, which helps those who have been chronically homeless to make transformational steps towards a better life through housing, comprehensive services and aftercare programs for graduates.

The Location and Project
Patriots in Paint NYC marks the start of this nationwide initiative. Sam Welty will be painting a large-scale mural at the Jericho Project Veterans Residence with support from the Jericho Project residents and staff, and Veteran artists.
We are THRILLED to be apart of the transformation of a currently blank outdoor wall with 5 different posters recognizing the 5 service branches: Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard. The mural will both honor the military community and generate awareness about local veteran service organizations.
After the mural is complete, there will be a celebratory event to admire the new awe-inspiring art in the neighborhood while helping to create connections between nonprofits serving the military community.
Before Picture of the Wall:
With Sam's creative touch, this drab wall will transform into a beautiful work of art like one of Sam's previous murals below:
How You Can Help:
All the pieces are in place to kick off this inspiring initiative: We have an expert artist, a phenomenal location and a group of passionate and creative veterans ready to support the project.
But we are missing a few things…
With your support, we will be able to cover the final costs to make this project happen.
-the paint to make the mural POP!
-the correct supplies so Sam and his crew can get the job done RIGHT! And Safely!
-to cover the cost of transportation Sam to and from New York City
-to cover the cost of a place for Sam to rest his eyes in between paint strokes.
Your donation will help us to create the first of many military focused murals to honor the sacrifice and service of our nations bravest men and women as part of our Patriots in Paint initiative. And perhaps, most notably, this New York City mural will help to create a sense of pride and a warm home for a brave and resilient group of veterans.
