Welcome Oncers, Friends, & Newcomers!
My name is Erin Stegeman and I am the creator of Once Upon A...Anonymous and your leader for this campaign. OUAA is a part parody/part spin-off web series of the hit ABC show Once Upon A Time, chronicling a support group created by fairytale characters attempting to survive in the modern world.
Being a comedy writer/actor and getting mistaken for Jennifer Morrison (who plays Emma on the original series) on a regular basis led to the creation of what was meant to be a one-off parody sketch. The first week after our release we reached 10,000 hits, got a ton of unexpected press, and an overwhelming amount of requests to do more episodes. So...we delivered a first season that played as spin-off between the ABC show's season 2 and 3. We watched as our series grew a healthy following on our YouTube channel and twitter, and received continued praise from the cast and crew of the show!
Since then, there has been even more demand for a second season.
But we want to spice it up.
My team and I have been working hard writing songs and creating a ROCK OPERA for OUAA. We decided to switch up our traditional web series episodic format, to create one giant MEGA musical episode. We are talking original music, dance numbers, and a larger cinematic scope and feel. We are also answering the call to bring in more original characters from the series like The Evil Queen and Rumpelstiltskin...but, we need your help!
We have self-funded the series up until this point, and to make this ROCK OPERA meet the highest standards, we have created this crowd-funding campaign to help us raise $7000. We are a non-profit organization so every dollar we receive goes straight to giving the fans a production that you'll want to watch over and over.
I personally think we have some of the best fans on the planet, and I want to truly reward you for your contributions. We've gone out of the box to deliver some creative treats for those that contribute Here are some of my favorites!
A Secret Season that will feature several 1-3 minute OUAA episodes that will be privately granted to those who select this perk.
An Original Song our team will write just for you.
Hang with your favorite cast member and I via Skype, one of my favorite restaurants, or on set. As you will see, there are lots of ways we can get to know each other and discuss which ship truly reigns supreme.
Decide the Fate of the Rock Opera. One special contributor will get the opportunity to decide who wins - the villains or the heroes.
This opera really needs your help so we can reach our minimum of $7000. We don't shoot, till we get the loot.
WHO IS THIS CHICK I'M CONTRIBUTING MY CASH TO?
* That's me as Emma.
As I mentioned I'm a comedy writer and actor. I've been in over 25 films and work regularly in commercials and voice overs as both an actor and writer. I'm a journalist for the LA Weekly affiliated blog, Tangled Web, The Hollywood Journal, & MYP Magazine. My Twitter has gotten the attention of several major media outlets, including E! & THE BOSTON GLOBE. The first short film I wrote and directed, MEET THE TWEEDS, was featured on Dread Central's home page on Halloween as a must-watch short. Earlier this year I started filming my first feature as a triple threat (writer/director/actor). I love creating progressive content for all walks of life. My team has already started a press tour for our campaign and will continue to do so until we reach our goal. I am committed to creating work for people, and
this project will employ over 30 artists.
Our cast is filled with several musical theater talents. Jay (Cogsworth) is a professional opera singer. Ace Marrero (Aladdin/Hook) actually played Aladdin in the long running musical at Disney's California Adventure. Plus, we have some VERY special guest performers to announce shortly!
