Slopeside's third album needs a hug.
One Lane Town represents a series of firsts for us: our first original duet...the first time Ophelia has been recorded by a full band...and our very first album to cross multiple genres of rock, blues, jazz, reggae and folk. (sometimes all in the same song...)
Some of these songs are ten years in the making. It can be tough to manage full time jobs and families and support our music, too ~ but we love what we do and honestly couldn't stop if we tried! For our two previous albums, we have financed everything and then tried to recoup our money by selling CDs at shows and through online downloads. This time, we wanted to offer our fans an even better album and add some additional value to the awesome people who have supported us year after year.
One Lane Town is an exciting collection of 11 original songs recorded at Coupe Studios in Boulder, Colorado. We hope they convey the real sense of arrival we are experiencing as both a band and as individual musicians.
So far we have spent about $10,000 laying down tracks and working with our favorite producer (and human being) John McVey to mix our music night after night, perfecting each song to within an inch of its life. All this is good, but in order to get the final product into our fans' hands we need to master, manufacture and distribute them, too - all of which will cost us an additional $5000. That's where we hope our faithful fans (that's you!) can help us bring this project to the finish line. By contributing at even the "Pre-purchase the CD" level today you will personally help carry One Lane Town through the final stages of production and right into your grateful ears!
But wait! There's more!!! Depending on the level of your support, we will reserve seats for you at one of our CD Release parties, play your summer party or even write and perform a song for your special occasion.
If we don't reach our goal, we will still finish this project and deliver the product our fans expect. (It just might take us a little while longer...) The more successful we are, the more songs we can write and record, the more live shows we can play and the more we can support our own pet projects like the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center and Love Hope Strength.
This is our third album, so we know what it takes to create a good one. That's why we're asking for help and why we hope you trust us to deliver a solid music experience.
We also know that some people just can’t contribute money, but that doesn’t mean you can’t help! Please share our project with your Facebook friends and help spread the word. (This site has great tools for that!) Your support means the world to us! All our shows in 2014 will be supporting this album, so if you can't contribute now, bring your friends out for a fun night to relax and share in our excitement for the songs we can't get out of our heads...
