No Strings, USA is a not-for-profit producer of educational and informational PUPPET films for children in the developing world. We are now preparing to produce two puppet films for the refugee children of Syria. One to directly address their current trauma and the other to help begin the peace building process for their future. Our funding partners have managed to raise most of the money for these films, but to finish them we must raise $50,000.
That is why we are asking for your help.
Our contacts on the ground in the refugee camps along Syria’s boarders tell us that the need is desperate and time is of the essence. We have started production on these two films hoping to get the additional $50,000 we need in order to be able to deliver the films by our deadline in mid-October.
The money raised will go towards the post-production on these important films; editing, sound mixing, dialogue looping, music composition and recording, visual effects, etc.
Please help us complete these life-saving films!
The situation in Syria is more than horrific, especially for the children. They are traumatized by the loss of their homes and their loved ones and by the horrors so many of them have seen. These children live in terrible circumstances and worse than that many live in terror, hopelessness and deep, deep sadness! Thankfully there are wonderful NGO’S (Non Governmental Organizations) working night and day to provide food and shelter for the Syrian refugees. Supporting their work by addressing the trauma these children experience is something No Strings is in a unique position to address.
Last year we did three films for children in Haiti. We recently got a report about two little girls (sisters) whose parents had been killed in the earthquake and who had been dug out of the rubble barely alive. The girls were so traumatized that neither of them had spoken a word since… not spoken for three years! They were in a group that was shown our film on trauma… a story with a similar situation. Afterwards they began to speak again. This is only one of many such stories that show the impact these films are having.

OUR TRACK RECORD
Thus far we have made 13 short films that have been dubbed into 24 languages and are being shown to children and families in 14 countries. Our experience has shown us that what we are doing works...that PUPPETS WORK!
Our films have reached children in Afghanistan, Haiti, South East Asia and East Africa dealing with issues surrounding conflict and peace, HIV/AIDS, natural disaster preparedness and poverty.
The films are culturally sensitive for the countries they are made for and dubbed into local languages. We train local facilitators in imaginative ways to present the films so that audiences fully explore their important lessons.
As children anywhere in the world will tell you, there's a huge difference between being TOLD important information, and having that information come alive. Puppet films offer a wonderfully vivid and non-threatening approach to sensitive information & issues.
No Strings strives for excellence. It is because of our team’s generosity, professionalism and diverse talents that we are able to create these lifesaving, informational films with the highest production values.
