The Chance of a Lifetime!

Beacon Charter High School for the Arts, opened in 2003, has grown to become one of Rhode Island's most successful charter schools.  We have a rich and vibrant artistic community consisting of 225 student artists.  Over the years, our students have received many accolades. Now a group of our theatre students have the opportunity to represent Beacon and our state at the 2014 International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska!

  • 20 Student-Artists will be accompanied by three chaperones and have the ability to immerse themselves in this week-long festival.  They will bring this experience back to their peers at the school.
  • Our Theatre program has repeatedly received international recognition.  This is an opportunity to allow our students to reap the rewards of their hard work!
  • The school is paying for the air travel for students.  We need your support for conference registration and lodging!

What We Need & What You Get

The Details:

  • The registration fees total over $15,000.  Student artists and their families are paying over $9,000 on their own.  That leaves us with an unmet need of almost $6,000!
  • As part of our fundraising efforts, we will be holding performances of the show,  First Encounters of the Quirky Kind, in late May.   You will have the opportunity to be recognized in our show program and/or receive a poster of the show,  For contributions of $100 or higher, you receive an autographed poster and one free ticket to the show.
  • If we don't meet our entire goal with this Indiegogo campaign, we will continue our fundraising efforts throughout the rest of the school year.  Failure is not an option!

The Impact

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our student artists!

  • Even with the smallest donation, you bring our student artists one step closer to their dream!
  • We've conquered Rhode Island, now, with your help, we're ready to take on the world!
