My name is Mikael Ohlson and I am a stop-motion animator from Sweden. I have been a fan of animation for as long as I can remember and at the approximate age of four, I started experimenting with stop-motion animation and film making. Because of my desire to constantly improve myself I became quite good at it at a young age. Unknowingly, this was eventually going to turn out as my full time job. The desire to create high quality productions and keep pushing myself to new levels increases after every new project I am involved in. With the help of you I can take it even further in my upcoming series!
The series I am working on is called Mr. Wolfie and the world which follows the main character Mr. Wolfie who is a wolf-like humanoid. After recently leaving his wolf-pack in order to live a life amongst humans we get to follow Mr. Wolfie experience his first beer, chatting up a girl, airplane traveling, visiting an art exhibition and much more. Mr. Wolfie wants to learn about and understand the life of humans. His goal is to fend for himself and make a living just like everybody else. The series is a pure comedy with a funny conclusion at the end of every episode. The animation is incredibly smooth with a cartoonish feel.
The idea for the characters personality has always been circling inside my head. A character that is sort of naive and childish yet still eager to learn new things is to me one of the best kinds of characters to make a comedy about. The fact that he doesn’t always know what he’s talking about opens up a whole lot of possibilities when it comes to jokes. It is like a child saying something that would normally be considered offensive, but due to Mr. Wolfie's cuteness and lack of knowledge it is forgiving and will bring laughter instead of anger. My goal is always to entertain and never to offend.
How long will it take?
Over a period of approximately
six months I will create six three minute episodes. Depending on shots, I will
be plowing through between 6 and 8 seconds of animation every day. To a person
not familiar with the art form, this might seem like very little animation for
a full day’s work. It’s not… Keeping in mind that I animate everything on
“ones” at 24 fps and force myself to make every single movement look as sleek and
(in most cases) realistic as possible actually make 6 seconds –or 144 frames into a
lot of animation for one day. In big budget films, every animator tries to get
between 2 and 7 seconds of animation done in a week!
Some voice recording
The wolf puppet is built using
aluminum wire, epoxy putty, foam rubber, Super Sculpey and fake fur. By making the puppets this way I
am able to keep the total cost to a minimum.
Well if you do contribute, not only can you be proud of yourself for making this series happen, but you will also get some cool perks in return. You can read more about this below. The greatest part in contributing to this project is the fact that if the project gets funded 110% or more, 10% of the entire budget goes to charity! If I can create this series and help others along the way I know it would make me and others very grateful. At the end of the campaign, three charity organizations will be the happy recipients of the extra 10%. Kindness is magic!
Check out what you can get in return for supporting this campaign!

As with every film project, money is always an issue. I will put a lot of money into this project myself in terms of equipment, material, studio space and man-hours. The money raised in this campaign will go to set building, prop making, lighting, sound design and editing. I will try to keep green screens to a minimum and use as many real sets as possible for visual appeal.
What if you contribute but the project doesn’t get enough funds? Don’t worry about it! You will automatically receive all your money if the project does not reach 100%, however this also means that the series will not be made and no money goes to charity. So make sure you spread this campaign around as much as you can in your social media network and make as many people contribute as you can!
