Hi, my name is Matt Grimsley. I'm a pastor and a musician. I am shaped by the Narrative of God rescuing the world in his Son, Jesus, and I seek to infuse that narrative into songs, sermons, liturgies, and ultimately into the lives of people.
I get to work with some incredible musicians at Redeemer Church of Knoxville, including Amy Porter, a masterful writer and arranger. We love hymns and how they give expression to the ups and downs of the journey of faith, always directing us to the work of Christ. And we want to share our arrangements of these hymns beyond the walls of our church. Our first album "Rise O Buried Lord" gave people a musical narration through Holy Week. And this second album called "Morning to Evening" is a collection of endurance songs for the journey of faith. We are stoked to have producer Brian T. Murphy and featured vocalist Margaret Patton French join our uber talented musicians from Redeemer and the Knoxville community.
But, here's the deal: we don't want to use the church's money to make this album. We want them to keep it and use it for care and mission. And we want to be able to give away our music for free when it's done. So, we need $15,000 to fully create and distribute this album and we need a loyal band of backers to help us get there. We have some pretty awesome perks: music, t-shirts, a Spurgeon book, and original works of art, plus some great options for you fellow worship leaders. Choose one of the fun rewards and let's get this music out for all to hear.
Our desire is that these songs would bless all who hear it, and we would love for you to partner with us. And we would love for you to help us spread the word about our project. Thank you.
