I've spent the last year shooting a mostly analog photography series with women in minimal clothing. It's about posing women in natural light with the very bare essentials so as to capture them in their most beautiful and vulnerable moments.
The last six months I've been renovating a sixties trailer and restoring a 1970 ford pickup truck with the dream to take this series across America. What will I pack? Film. And lots of it.
Life is about the challenge and there is nothing more challenging than shooting manual film photography. You never know what you are going to get and when you get it, it is unlike anything a digital camera could ever produce. Film is a dying art and there are a handful of us passionate analog enthusiasts who want to keep it alive.
That's where you come in. This is an opportunity to provide enough support to travel this country and create a large format hardbound photography book perfect for a coffee table. We also plan to shoot a series of short films featuring each model on the trip.
In order to get there we need enough money for gas, food and film for a three month tour. Once back we format the layout of the book followed by having it printed and distributed to fine folks like yourself. Then? We throw a huge art show party for those involved. And we literally can't do it without you!
We have spent a tremendous amount of time researching specific costs and here is the breakdown.
1. $3000 in Gas / Parking trailer (That's over 6K pulling the trailer)
2. $2000 in Film / Processing
3. $1500 in Food
4. $1000 Design / Layout
5. $5000 Print and Distribution
6. Misc & Unexpected Costs (Roadtrip breakdowns, influx print cost, gas prices etc)
So far I have sold nearly everything I own, rebuilt the engine in my truck and bought all the necessary gear for the road. I have also saved enough money to cover all the bills while gone and moved into the trailer in a best friends backyard where I will reside until it's time to leave for the trip.
There are some fantastic perks from personal photoshoots, to signed books and large prints uniquely made just for you down to small polaroids and digital packages. See the list and help us get moving!
If we don't make our goal, we will use what we raise for the trip and find alternate ways to fund the publishing of the book. *Please note, if we are unable to raise funds to print the book and photographs, we'll find other ways to reward you. If we raise more than enough money, we'll use that to create a mini documentary about the trip and bring along a film maker to capture the journey on video.
All who back (even for $1) will be invited to a backers only platform to follow the intimate details and updates of the trip. If you are unable to support at this time, would you mind helping get the word out by sharing this with others?
If any profits are made as a result of this project, we will be working with The A21 Campaign in donating a portion of the proceeds to help fight against human trafficking in America and around the world.
