News and updates

  • The white version arrived

The Goal and the stretch goal
  • We need at least $30,000 to get a lower production cost at the factory.
  • By reaching the stretch goal of $50,000, we can release a MIDI music player application for iPhone for free. This app will turn your digital piano into a jukebox as seen in the video.

Prototyping History

We have been developing for last 8 months and made 3 prototyping (including the first which has a coin-cell battery).

We are using 2nd prototyping for the PV of mi.1.

Development History

The 3rd becomes more compact and slimmer than the 2nd.

2nd(left) and 3rd(right) prototyping

And the last prototyping is molded like a connector of MIDI cable, not a box made of several ABS parts with screws.

Risks and Challenges

We expect digital pianos connected to mi.1 have a circuit which complies with "MIDI 1.0 Specification". If the pianos don't have an equivalent circuit with a reference design in the document, they may not work with mi.1. We have not encountered such kind of problem yet, but we will share informations on our web site if we can find a piano which does not work with mi.1.

FAQ

Q. I'm wondering that does it work well with apple new bluetooth over midi feature that announced in WWDC14 ?

Yes, We are planing to support Apple BLE MIDI. After Apple release the BLE MIDI specification, we will update mi.1 firmware to adapt it shortly.
