Aloha my name is Eddie Rodman and Mahalo for caring about the food we eat & how its grown:)

Thanks to Devenne and Deter for donating a green house!

Sustainable agriculture is the production of food, fiber, or animal products using farming techniques that protect the environment, public health, human communities, and animal welfare. This form of agriculture enables us to produce healthy food without compromising future generations' ability to do the same. Maui imports 80% of its food, and it is time to become more sustainable and not so dependent on the main land for our food. We would like to start a Organic Fruit and Vegetable farm on Maui that will produce an affordable, healthy, organic food for everyone.

Agriculture in Hawaii

The Hawaiian land, and its people, are in trouble. We import over 80% of our food, and good, fresh local produce is pretty much unaffordable for most residents. The ancient Hawaiians called the land the aina. And today, both the aina and our fresh water supplies are under unsustainable pressure.

The land prices are so high it’s almost impossible for most farmers to make a living but I have the land setup with Ulupono but still need a wind break, and disk impement to become sustainable, like we need a wind break for the environment to help prevent erosion from wind and rain, a green house so the animals and outside eliments dont damage the starter plants.

The time of the chemical farming is a

thing of the past.

Maui Ohana Organic Farms will provide a choice to eat healthy, non cemical sprayed food that taste better and is better for you. I have a degree in Sustainable Tropical Crop Managment from the University of Hawaii Maui and Our goal is to produce and provide a healthy choice of food to everyone on the island, locals and visitors alike. The big picture and the ultimate goal is to open a small fresh organic produce shop or stand on Front St. Lahaina to make it easy to find fresh healthy food everyday.

The Impact Your Money Will Make
Once we have the new green house, wind break and tractor implament in place, we will be a few months away from selling some of the freshest, healthiest, most delicious produce in Hawai’i through shops, farmers markets, and restaurants. Contribute to the project now!” or “Claim your perk

Other Ways You Can Help

If you choose not to contribute money, you can help in other ways:

Tell everyone you know--post, Facebook, Tweet, tell our story

Know anyone in Hawai’i? Tell the locals--let ‘em know there’s fresher, cleaner, cheaper produce coming their way, if we can raise enough to get sustainable!
