Thank you! With your help, we have reached our goal of $10,000!!!!!
This would not have been possible without your help, especially the anonymous donor who contributed $8,000 whopping dollars.
Magehaven the Series
Magehaven follows the story of Arrin, a young apprentice who is unexpectedly thrust into a war between elves and wizards when he is entrusted with a spell book containing the secrets of elven magic.
Indiegogo in the Past
When Magehaven came into discussion, it was no more than a short film with an intention of producing something fun and exciting and we looked to crowd funding to make it possible. With a campaign success of $3400 your donations helped bring Magehaven into the world.
Magehaven, Season One
With your continued support, you can help us raise enough funds to finish telling the first chapter of Magehaven. Share it with your friends if you enjoyed the first episode, we have a fantastic story to tell, and it cannot be done without you.
As with our last campaign, we will be releasing updates every week with exciting new content as we travel to locations, interview cast and crew and many other aspects to film making. We want you to see Magehaven come alive as we tell the story.
At first glance we estimated Magehaven, Season One to cost approximately $15,000 to cover our "hard costs" including rentals, insurance, travel, costumes etc. We are fortunate to have an amazing team to work with and a lot of the costs have been absorbed which allows us to keep our budget low.
$15,000 is a very large dollar amount and we would love to hit that goal, however, if we do not, we could lose a portion of your donated funds. That in mind, we are only looking to raise enough funds to carry us through a large portion of filming and should we surpass our current goal, we can assure you it will go to making Magehaven even better.
An Epic shot on an Epic
The Epic fantasy that is Magehaven will be shot in 5K resolution intended for a 4K release. The same camera that Peter Jackson used to shoot The Hobbit is the same camera we are using to shoot Magehaven.
Here are some recent films shot on Epic:
- The Hobbit
- The Amazing Spider Man
- The Great Gatsby
- Oz the great and powerful
I would love to say that just because we shoot with the same camera, Magehaven will be just as good as those film, but there is so much more that goes into making a film than the camera.
Using an Epic, just gives us a head start on quality production.
The Epic camera plus a Scarlet Camera are generously donated to the project by South Bay Cine. http://www.southbaycine.com
