Love the Pink Kiss.
To compare this movie to other romantic comedy dramas, it would fall in line with the quirkiness of ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, the hidden romance of GREEN CARD, the humorous edge of BRIDGETTE JONES DIARY and the innocence of KISSING JESSICA STEIN. A story of, "the underdog gets her just rewards."
As an author of many published books in the lesbian genre, Pink Crush, The Dark Cully's Mistress, Ruby Tipped Globes, to name a few, I created the adaptation of Loving the Pink Kiss, my first ever published release and turned it into what is now going to be a movie, Love the Pink Kiss, an even more satirical version of the romance.
THEY MEET AT THEIR OWN WEDDING!
Love the Pink Kiss is a romantic comedy drama with inspiration from the underdog character of the story, a feel good movie with a unique storyline and sexual content. The story follows Sarah Niles, a vain self centered woman in her twenties.
She has drunkenly accepted a bribe of $50,000 to marry a stranger, Robbie.
The satire begins when Sarah, not meeting Robbie until they come face to face for the first time in front of the Marriage Commissioner, realises that her assumption of Robbie being a male is immediately changed when she finds herself about to be wed to a woman. But Sarah's life is about to take another turn when her idea of this marriage, being a signed piece of paper followed by a divorce 12 months later, takes on a new twist. Robbie is to move in with her!
As time goes by, Sarah is drawn to Robbie's warmth and without realising it, begins to fall in love with her. A romance soon blossoms and the actual emotion of love takes Sarah quite by surprise.
But this is a comedy with plenty of drama and with Jen, Robbie's stalker ex-girlfriend lurking in the background, the cattiness soon raises doubt and suspicions between Robbie and Sarah. Robbie reluctantly leaves Sarah over what she sees as betrayal and immature behaviour. Sarah is devastated, her world has crashed and burned around her.
Jen preys on Sarah's distraught emotions and seduces her at every opportune moment. When Sarah finally comes to her senses and ends it with Jen, her tormentor moves on to her best friend, Jessica, interfering in her relationship with Jake, her fiancé.
Sarah finds friendship and comfort with new love interest Charlie, but she's not Robbie and neither Sarah nor Charlie can fully commit themselves to each other.
A brief encounter with Robbie leaves Sarah at an advantage when Robbie informs her that she has to return to the UK due to unfortunate circumstances.
She asks Sarah for a favour, to look after her best friend Kate who has recently recovered from brain surgery. Sarah happily accepts to help and builds a new friendship, bridging the gap between her and Robbie.
With Robbie's return to Canada, Sarah is relieved to find that Robbie's anger has melted towards her and their relationship is once again focusing on their future.
This movie starts with a wedding farce, embarks on an emotional comedic journey, then ends with a wedding created through true love, leaving you feeling contented that lesbian comedy is well worth investing your money in.
This campaign is important to us because most of the story is based on the scriptwriters own real life experiences. The love, the laughter and the drama are all real and we want to share it with you.
Here's a snippet from the script.
Sarah and Robbie walk home through the park. Dimly lit lamps light the pathway. A late night jogger runs past them and startles Sarah. Sarah drunkenly trips, Robbie tries to catch her but falls on top of Sarah. Their faces are close, then they both laugh.
Sarah stops laughing.
